London Calling 3 bed 3 baths 5 mins from train into City

The apartment was the perfect location to be able to walk to my aunts house. It was extremely spacious and clean. Bonus points too as there were tbags and all 😀

It was extremely warm on arrival as the roads were up full but this was fixable by turning them down.

The owner is very helpful. And it's right next to my cousin's home.

We liked the location of the property. Tea and coffee fully stocked with chocolate bars. Decent array of kitchenware like plates, cups, bowls, cutlery & utensils etc. Nice hot water and dishwasher which was handy.

First of all, the property had a very strange layout which even for an apartment was a bit confusing to navigate. Although the location was good, the parking was roadside with lots of traffic which was noisy and also my car got scratched on the first night. The cleanliness and maintenance of the property was really bad. There was stains on stairs as you come up, tatted paint, peeling wallpaper, dirt on things like walls/heaters & hairs in bath. In the En Suite room, there is no lock on the door (just a hole), the lamp between the beds was hanging off and beds not the most comfortable. When we arrived we took pictures of everything to make sure we got our deposit back of £200, and during this we noticed the en suite bathroom sink plug was stuck and wasn’t draining however we called the owner and she was polite and called the plumber out who arrived the next morning which was great although luckily we hadn’t already left and was a great inconvenience of course. Also a bit strange that the En suite room has 2 single beds and the other room the double. It got cold at some points as the heating was obviously set to go on and off at certain times. The communication with the owner was ok during the stay and she was polite enough to honour a late checkout for the inconvenience of the sink etc. which was very kind. But the communication leading up to stay was really bad was waiting for days at a time and never got a straight response about a late checkout request and other information. I was also told the deposit would be refunded back within 7 days of departure. I hadn’t received this until I contacted the owner on day 8 or 9 which was concerning. Other than all of this the place is a bit eccentric with all the white walls and bright lights, didn’t feel warm or cosy and also TV was tiny for the size of the living room! Overall a poor experience, way under standard for what we paid.

Poor condition, need to make some changes to the mattresses, fix extractor fans, replace freezer, provide more linen and be proactive in replying to messages.

Poor cleanliness, we booked for almost 2 weeks and was only given 1 towel each, limited toilet paper. Nil cover for the duvets and pillows. The mattresses were in very poor condition with no support- felt like sleeping on springs. Noted that our back have been sore since. The property was not clean on arrival, dust everywhere, the rug in the lounge was filthy, there was no vacuum cleaner on site to keep the place clean during our stay. The oven did not work properly and the freezer was full of ice- unable to open or use. For the price, this property was not value for money. The positive thing was that of its location and proximity to bus stop and shops. However the traffic noise was incessant as the property is situated on a junction. The extractor fans in both bathrooms did not work and created a lot of steam post showers. The host was not proactive in replying to messages, and we requested for an early checking, was charged an extra $80. The pots and pans were rusty, had to go and purchase a pan to do some basic cooking.
