Perfect apartment that has everything you need for your stay in Valencia - fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed and washing machine. The apartment was sparkling clean. Contactless check in was smooth and hassle-free. Things to keep in mind: -the apartment opens directly to the street, which was actually a pretty good thing, because you don't need to navigate any doors or corridors to get in and out. -bus stop is right across the corner. -Aldi supermarket is across the street. -washing machine has a drying mode which is handy. -shampoo, shower gel, complimentary tea and coffee, as well as laundry gel were kindly left by the host. -the street traffic is rather busy during day, but it's quiet at night. This is a residential area, so no parties, loud crowds, etc.

The place was roomy and clean.

For starters, the landlord didn't answer my 2 WhatsApp calls after numerous rings when trying to sort out the lock box code and obtain the keys. He did reply to my subsequent text message saying he didn't have time to take my call and what did I need? He then messaged me the code and followed that with a screenshot of message, sent the night before, in Portuguese (which I don't speak or read) that did include the code. After which he wrote that "you should read the messages you receive!" I was new to booking.com and an email I received from them had a PIN # in it which I mistakenly thought was the code for the keys. If he had just answered my call or replied without all the criticism and !!! marks, things would have gotten off to a much more pleasant start. Clearly if I had seen that message I would have saved myself quite a lot of hassle and stress before he finally responded with the actual code. As it was, it seems like he wants the $ with absolute minimum hassle/interaction and has next to no compassion for a client in a stressful situation. Now, more relevant to fellow travelers, parking is difficult and limited. I ended up about 2 blocks away and was never at complete ease with that scenario. The place is ground floor, and the front door is a sidewalk width from a fairly noisy, well trafficked street with just a frosted glass door and window that doesn't do much to reduce the noise factor. If you are light or noise sensitive sleeper by warned, it is far from ideal. Having a close drying rack would make the washing machine there for more useful but there was a small amount of laundry soap and softener provided and that was appreciated. Despite being careful, it was very difficult to shower without water running out onto the floor as there is no lip on the shower floor to retain the water and no extra towels to deal with that.
