Expensive for one night £148.50 and no breakfast. And was told by other guests they paid much less than us

Door lock not secure hanging off (reported). Only one set of towels. Nowhere to put toothbrushes. Bed uncomfortable- mattress was awful, a slat was missing from the base - we both had a bad back from sleeping on it. Toilet was loose on floor. We will definitely not be going back there!

There was a problem with the room cleaning but it was quickly addressed. Seemed like a simple mix-up. Also our first key was not working, that was also quickly fixed.

Everything except the heating .too hot

Very Dirty Room Living Area - Remnants of crisp crumbs on the floor by the dining table, crumbs on the dining table from previous guests. Bed - Hairs in the bed, not just one or two, I swear by the amount of hair in the bed the sheets or pillow cases hadn't been changed from the previous guests. Dirt marks on sheets hidden at the bottom end of the bed. Bathroom - Pubic hairs in and around bath tub and in wash sink, No Shower as stated in booking description!! So we had to use the showers in the spa (not ideal for my family) The mirror was not fixed to the wall it was just placed on the wash sink with the taps acting as its support. Having booked this room back in January in preparation for one of Wales biggest events I was looking forward to my stay at this property, unfortunately it was a major let down. It seemed as though we were dumped into a slum cellar room below street level, there was nothing appealing or nice about the room. It looked like a room that had been chucked together in 20 minutes and deemed suitable for a young family to stay and It was far from it. The Barman and Receptionist were really helpful in resolving 'some' of our issues. The manager got in contact with myself to apologise and offered us complimentary breakfast as a gesture of goodwill which we were prepared to accept before we informed him of our 6.30 departure in the morning then of which he stated breakfast did not start until 8, we therefore had to decline. The next morning as I went to hand my key into reception I was disappointed to see that there were guests having breakfast at the time we stated to the manager so unfortunately we left with nothing but a lousy apology. £300+ for 2 miserable nights, We will not be returning after this experience.

Had a family room and it was very spacious and very clean. Lovely old building with original features.

Being on the bottom floor, haven’t been to Aberystwyth for years and got to say it’s looking sorry for itself, just reminds me a bit like Blackpool not much to do but if you’re looking for a night out there’s plenty of bars and clubs (uni), the door kept slamming every time someone walked through, well I wouldn’t say it’s the properties fault it’s the inconsiderate people who don’t care about anyone else but themselves.
