This was without a doubt stunning. You have to follow Emanuela’s instructions exactly and it will go very smoothly. She was extremely helpful. Once there all your cares melt away and it’s you, the goats and the wild boars just hanging out in quiet beauty at night. It’s amazing to be in Italy so close to so many people yet so far. A great break from the tourist crowds.

It’s hard being at the mercy of the ferries. If there is a storm or high swells it can be tricky. Andrea was a great private boat captain who Emanuela recommended. He gave us great information but you are at the mercy of the sea. High swells and they cannot run the boats.

Exceptional location and well provisioned flat. The view from the bedrooms was incredible and the host was extremely helpful with our arrival/leaving arrangements when the boats were cancelled due to sea swell. .

Advice for visitors: Pack light in case of having to arrive by foot. We left luggage at a hostel in Genoa but it was still too much stuff to be carrying. If doing the walk to Portofino, it is really important to take enough drinking water. It is hard on the way there but easier on the way back. It's not a critisiscm as it was shown on the photos but the top bunk didn't have a safety bar to stop small children from falling out so we couldn't use the top bunk.

"A Hidden Gem"

The host was promptly responsive to questions and requests that we had before and during our stay. The host even picked up breakfast groceries for us before our stay. The views from both bedrooms were AMAZING!! The entire unit was very clean and had air conditioning. The kitchen was stocked with all of the kitchen dishes and gadgets you would need if you want to cook at your apartment but there are also delicious restaurants in the village. The surroundings are such a gorgeous and special place. It is truly a hidden gem and one of the most beautiful places we've visited in Italy. We will definitely be back!

I wouldn't change a thing!
