Punta Esmeralda - Beachfront with 8 Pools, Gym & Spa

Layout of the unit is nice and the views were beautiful. Ocean side restaurant, spa, and pools on the property were all very nice. AC worked well

This definitely felt like a pure rental with the bare minimum put into it. The trip started with horrible communication about check in even though i had reached out and asked for the check in information to be sent to me before we left our previous place and gave my WhatsApp number. We sat at the gate with our luggage confused for almost a half hour before getting a code sent to us. The room was not ready for over an hour after we arrived and still we had received no information about the property. No information about the property was sent until the next day! When we finally got in to the unit the refrigerator and freezer were not working and ice was melting all over the floor. The people were able to get this fixed 24 hours later but we went our first night and day without a working freezer/ fridge. Somehow there was a big communication breakdown between the host and the booking.com or something with the check in which really is inexcusable and not a great first impression at all. Aside from that the unit was not well loved. The oven did not work. The BBQ starter was broken and there was no lighter or matches in the unit that worked. Two towel holders fell off in the bathroom the first hour we were there. The clock on the wall didn’t even have a battery in it. Nothing says “we don’t really care” more than this. I cant remember the last time we stayed in a unit (even cheep ones) that had no soap or body wash for the showers. The water pressure was so low in the sink it was a challenge to wash dishes and the dishwasher did not clean well. It is time for some upgrades all around. The kitchen knives were some of the dullest and cheapest i have ever used. I am not usually a nitpicky person as you can see from my many reviews but i think we owe it to each other to be honest on these reviews. I am sure the host did her best to try and make us happy but the owners need to put some love and money into this otherwise beautiful unit and lock in.
