This was an excellent choice for us. The accomodation is great- very peaceful but a short drive to amazing beaches and amenities. It’s clean, light and airy and has everything you need. The beds are very comfy and we all slept very well! We were also pleasantly surprised by the complimentary milk, local eggs and tea etc upon arrival. The hosts are amazing- very friendly and really can’t do enough for you. They live at the neighbouring property and invited us to go round to pet and feed the animals. All the animals are rescued and the majority are very friendly. My 4 year old Loved doing this. Overall our trip was wonderful and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Das Ferienhaus liegt sehr ruhig in mitten der Natur und bietet viele Möglichkeiten zum Entspannen und Zeit mit den wunderbaren Tieren der Besitzer zu verbringen. Ein Spaß für große und kleine Farmer 😉

There is nothing to complain about!

Great place to explore North Devon from. Self check-in was quick and easy. The house had all the essentials needed for a comfortable stay, and loved the personal touches, including milk, fresh duck/ chicken eggs, children's toys/ books, games. Nick & Kiri were always on hand to offer suggestions for places to visit. Great view over the field with sheep, pigs and alpacas. They also let us help with the morning feed of all the animals, great fun for both kids and adults.

The location is absolutely perfect- it feels like you truly are away from civilisation but in fact, you’re just down the road from everything you need to keep a family entertained. It has been incredibly relaxing to stay here, yet we’ve managed to pack so much in! The pictures don’t really do this property justice- it’s a lovely home from home and the surroundings are so peaceful and naturally beautiful. There is good quality furniture, with comfy beds and ample storage space. The kitchen was well stocked with a few welcome treats too which was a nice touch. Kiri and Nick have been incredible hosts, so accommodating and have really made this an ‘experience’ rather than just another holiday. The kids and adults have absolutely loved seeing the animals from the window through the day along with helping during some of the feeds. This has been a trip that they will never forget, in fact we had tears on the final night at the thought of leaving! We will definitely be returning. Thank you both so much for a wonderful stay!

A stay at Ruby’s Retreat is a must!! We were a group of 4 adults and we had plenty of room in the house. Kiri and Nick were fantastic. They were super helpful recommending places to visit, and Kiri gave us a fantastic meet and greet with the farm animals and allowed us to feed and pet them….it was brilliant. The property itself couldn’t be in a better location for exploring beautiful north Devon. We found we were within a half hour drive of everywhere we wanted to visit. Couldn’t have asked for a better location. Everything you need is in the property too with plenty of kitchen utensils and it was useful having the basics like salt/pepper/sugar etc and even some eggs from the farm! The best part is the view from the windows, you can spend hours looking at the pigs, sheep and alpacas munching grass on the field outside, not to mention all the birds you see! All in all a fantastic place to stay, can’t wait to visit again!

Great rural location - yet only 15 minute drive away from towns and shops. Comfortable and clean. All the thimgs I needed for a 3-night stay.
