Carlton House

The property was very well presented. All the rooms were very clean. The kitchen had good facilities. The dining table was just about large enough for 6 people. The rain shower in the bathroom was sublime. Garden is nice enough and contained.

We had two fundamental problems with this property. 1) You have to place a £150 deposit on a site outside of booking.com. We were then charged for cleaning even though there was a £20 cleaning charge already applied. Booking.com couldn't help but i paid through paypal for this who saw sense to refund it. Worst bit is there is no vacuum cleaner or even dustpan and brush. We had our grandkids 2 & 3 yr olds visit us while there as it was a trip to see family and you can imagine kids will make a bit of mess but if you can't clean it up with no supplies and you pay a cleaning charge already do not charge a second one. Especially not £150! Booking.com should really be viewing issues like this better. 2) The main bedroom curtains were too thin with the outside street light the room was lit up. The main bed was also very soft and squeaky as you wouldn't believe. Sleeping was impossible as a result of this very disappointing. In addition except kitchen and bathroom the rest of house looked like it was renovated by DIYers and while for the most part it's ok the poor quality of fitment is starting to show. The fitting of the floor between kitchen and dining was levelled before fitment and will get broken very quickly. I hope they don’t charge a tenant when it happens. The stairs downstairs to basement lounge had a cracked tile which was very dangerous. Parking could be an issue at times.

Good location for what we wanted. The house was very clean. Clearly looked after. Great shower and kitchen appliances. Dish washer and coffee maker.

Bring an eye mask as the curtains in the bedroom do nothing. Woke up at 4am every day with the sun coming through. Curtains were the same in the lounge. If it weren't for this, I would definitely visit again.

The house is well located and has ample space and a good secure garden for pets. The kitchen is well appointed and the living spaces are functional. There is a big focus on the tech, consoles and games etc.

The home appeared to be in progress, i.e. no blinds or curtains for the kitchen or bathroom. The property would benefit from a more robust bed as it did feel a little unsteady. I would also prefer if towels were provided for all, there were a few and we brought our own along so it was okay. The freezer defrosted our foods, so we aren't sure if it's the settings or if it's not working.

A lovely house nicely decorated. The dining table and kitchen were lovely. The kitchen was well fitted out and with tea, coffee, sugar and salt and pepper provided and it had a lovely courtyard garden. The hosts left a bottle of red wine which was a lovely touch. The house and bedding/towels were clean and fresh.

The bathroom was very cold and although we put the heating on this room never warmed up. The master bed was very comfortable but a bit unstable/creaky and the single bed mattresses were very thin and therefore a bit uncomfortable.

Fresh and clean house, well looked after. Great location and free parking.

A little gem ,decorated to high standard, clean well positioned for getting about , nice and warm , comfortable double bed .

I think we where first to stay in the property so did find some teething issues. More equipment needed in kitchen, blind needed on downstairs bathroom,positioning and comfort of sofas in lounge when trying to watch tv. Small night light needed where step down to upstairs toilet is . I hope these items help with future bookings for you .
