Modern Beachfront Studio- 133 Eden on the Bay

As a frequent traveler who often uses Booking.com, I have never felt compelled to write a review like this before. This was, without exaggeration, the WORST stay I have ever experienced. I checked out less than 12 hours after checking in because of how unprofessional and rude the staff were. The directions to the property were not clear, so I ended up having to wait in a dark alley, late at night, for a staff member to proceed with check-in. The staff member who met me for check-in was on his phone the entire check-in and was incredibly argumentative and defensive. When I simply asked for clarification regarding the high check-in fee (R450), he became instantly confrontational and eventually just stormed off. I am still so utterly appalled by how unprofessional the staff member was. I enquired about a late check-in prior to booking WITH NO RESPONSE, as soon as I booked, they sent me the details for late check-in fees. I should’ve known something was off about this place since they don’t have any questions answered on their Booking.com profile. The lack of transparency says a lot. The staff member called me again after leaving, demanding I pay the money before the end of the night - I had to tell him to calm down and that there was absolutely no need for a heated phone call past 23:00 at night. I absolutely would have paid the money, but because of the horrible interaction I had with him, I politely asked if I could wait until the morning to first speak to the manager, because I knew in that moment there was absolutely no way I would be staying at this place for the duration that I booked for. Getting to my rental car and back to the room was very confusing, I ended up going up the wrong elevator multiple times trying to get my luggage to the room, based on my interaction with the staff member, I wasn’t comfortable reaching out for assistance.

I liked the location, the place itself was gorgeous everything was there iron washing machine nice cultery glasses and everything. Value for money. Had an iron and ironing board. Very clean and safe environment

It’s a bit noisy because of the deliveries and it’s not on the beach view. And the host didn’t have a mop for us where else to keep her place clean for 5 days we had to mop atleast

Our holiday at 133 Eden on the Bay was absolutely superb. The apartment was immaculate and beautifully maintained. The location is truly unbeatable. As a local, this is one of the closest stays we’ve ever had to the beach, with shops and fantastic local restaurants all within easy walking distance, which made the experience even more special. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, and the key handover process was seamless and stress-free. The only minor drawback was that the dustbins are positioned directly below the balcony, which posed a slight safety concern as people could potentially climb onto them. Because of this, we couldn’t comfortably leave the doors open, and the apartment did get quite warm, especially as there wasn’t a proper fan available. Aside from this small issue, everything else was exceptional. Overall, a 5 out of 5-star experience and a place we would absolutely recommend.
