Amazing views! Well equipped kitchen. Great setting for a family or a group of friends. Excellent location, in the middle between LA and SFO. Wishing we could stay longer, we'll definitely be back!

If you're looking for peace, privacy, and pure comfort, look no further. Staying at Ryan's rental was an absolute dream from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away—not just by the stunning views and beautifully remote setting, but by how thoughtfully stocked and cozy the home was. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need (and then some), and the entire space felt like a true home away from home. Ryan is an incredible host—responsive, warm, and genuinely committed to making our stay perfect. Every little detail was considered, and anytime we had a question or need, Ryan was right there with a solution and a smile. And let’s talk about the welcome crew: Bourbon and Cider, the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet, and Walter the tortoise, who totally stole our hearts and devoured our apples. The furry (and shelled) companions made our stay feel extra special and full of personality. If you're craving a peaceful escape with all the comforts of home—and an unforgettable host—this is the place. We’re already dreaming of our next visit!

wonderful host, incredible beauty

What a stunning spot! We were able to ride bikes down to Avila beach and back up. The view of the ocean and the surrounding hills was lovely. Ryan was super nice and helpful, and the pups are very well trained.

As advertised, the view was incredible. It looked just like the photos every morning. Perfect spot to get away and relax but also close enough to downtown SLO, and other sites. The host Ryan was so welcoming and responsive during our stay. The dogs, tortoise, and chickens were also an extra treat!

It was a little tight for our family of 4 adults and 2 children as the main bedrooms upstairs are small and we all kept hitting our heads on the slanted ceilings.

The views were amazing. Cider and Bourbon (owner's dogs) are adorable. Owner is attentive and answers your questions.

Beds are memory foam and aren't our preference but some may like that. Recommendation for other travelers: Drive to and from location from the Avila Beach side, not the San Luis Obispo (SLO) side which is more steep/windy.

Ryan (& Bourbon and Cider) are great hosts and made our family stay very comfortable. Good place to stop while travelling through California.

The view from this location is absolutely amazing! Ryan was a terrific host. He was responsive when we communicated prior to our arrival and was very welcoming when we got to the house.

The description of the house is very inaccurate. This is NOT a 3-bedroom house; this is a 1 bedroom house, with an additional bed in the middle of the living room and one double bed in a closet upstairs that has been repurposed into a "bedroom" (no windows). The slanted ceilings upstairs compromise the functionality of the whole floor tremendously, particularly the bathroom. It's not fully functional, especially if you're above average height. The toilet is positioned in the corner, with your knees having to rest underneath the sink when you're sitting on it. Our whole family is average height, and even the kids were bumping their heads against the ceiling the whole time. The bathroom upstairs also doesn't have a locking door; it's an accordion door, that barely closes. The only air conditioning is in the single bedroom upstairs. This house is ok for a couple, or a couple and 1-2 young kids.
