2 Bed Old Town Apartment - Next To Castle

Huge apartment plenty of space fantastic location

It’s location. Old charm and spacious.

Bathroom desperately needs updating. Not in line with the apartment unfortunately.

The location was perfect for exploring and the views from every window was stunning.

I honestly loved it all, squeaky floor beards and all.

the location was good and the flat itself was spacious.

The flat was not clean, hair was found in the bathroom and when complained to the host they didn’t do anything so at the end we had to clean ourselves. Also heavy smell of fry was evident bc of the pub downstairs. Most of the doors inside the flat didn’t have a lock and were broken. There was too much noise in the evenings, mainly due to the central location. The flat is dated and needs refurbishment. Overpriced for what it is.

Amazingly convenient location: steps away from Edinburgh Castle, with the Royal Mile just outside the front door and Victoria street right behind the unit. The perfect home base for the Old Town area. Unit was spacious, comfortable and beautiful.

At night we felt a lot of fry smell

The location of this property absolutely sells it. It's proximity to the castle and things like Camera Obscura is amazing, meaning your days aren't rushed. It's a great size, with both bedrooms being roomy with loads of storage. It is well equiped when it comes to cleaning stuff and crockery, cooking utensils are pretty decent too. Our hosts were brilliantly communicative with really clear access instructions given and were responsive if there were any queries.

The property feels tired. It could be cleaner with fixtures and fittings being seen to - really small things like the toilet roll holder is hanging on by a thread, as are a couple of the cupboards in the kitchen. A previous review mentioned the windows which are indeed filthy. It's worth noting that this property is over a pub which has usual finish time of 11 during the week but 1am at weekends, so can get loud.

Location and size.

Had a problem with main lock on apartment door OK to lock and unlock from outside but a struggle to unlock inside the apartment.
