Host & Stay - Hutton-le-Hole Cottages

Property and location was lovely. Lovely cottage with stunning views and all amenities

The only negative comment I would leave is finding the property. There is no signs to let you know where it is we spent 40 mins trying to find the place and also no phone signal in the village, had to access bakery WiFi to get a signal to call the host to find out how to find this hidden gem. A sign up on the wall or gate to let you know this is the moorfield cottages holiday let etc would be helpful for anyone visiting in the future. Other than that I can't fault anything.

Instructions to the property were great until we got into Hutton le hole itself, but there were no lane/street signs for the last little bit and as there is no wifi or phone reception in the village at all, it meant we struggled to actually get to the cottage itself. Eventually we asked at the local pub and the very nice Landlord came out of the pub and took us to the cottage, its that close. The pub was delightful, a stone’s throw from the cottage and served delicious food, highly recommend! The cottage itself was absolutely gorgeous, just like the photos, but even better. It was spotlessly clean, with very comfortable beds and whiter than white crisp sheets and bedding. The property management company were great, very quick to respond to our emails. Our only complaint was the heating, we could not get ANY of the radiators to work, despite following the instruction in the guide book and the instructions from the property management company. Luckily there was a free standing plug in heater in one of the wardrobes, which we plugged in the bedroom shut the door and warmed one room up at a time. Apart from this everything else was great, and we would definitely stay again.

The character of the cottages and the surrounding village is stunning. The beds were very comfy, and the bathroom was lovely.

Everything related to the booking service 'Host and stay' was abysmal if I'm honest. Replies often came within an hour, but they were often completely inaccurate or unhelpful, and seemed to be written by a bot. One of the times, Charlie replied saying that a communal space advertised on the listing wasn't available, before following up with the total opposite and hour later. Numerous advertising messages about unrelated discounts and experiences. We arrived to unmade beds because Host and Stay gave the manager the wrong check-in dates. We asked Charlie if the property could be decorated for Christmas and received nothing but "I'll let the owner know right away" for six weeks. This question remained unanswered until we spoke to Sam, the Manager on arrival, who was very helpful and did everything she could to remedy the situation. I'd strongly encourage the owners to find a new hosting service.

The rooms were so cozy and spacious, it felt so homely, loved the outdoor space, spotless

Only downside was the bathroom was always cold, even with the heating on

Master bed could do with being bigger

Location, roomy, well equipped (for the most part), comfortable, dog friendly and easy parking.

Complicated heating system , having to unblock the shower drain on day one
