1 Coach House Mews - Matlock Bath

It is always a pleasure to stay in this beautiful little apartment. It's always comfortable, clean and honestly the best place to stay in Matlock bath. This apartment is so close to everything. Just across the road from the train station and the heights of Abraham. A lovely curry house is less than a minute away on the corner. A short walk to gulivers and the little main street. The host is always friendly, helpful and polite. It is just perfect

Going home

Maureen, (the host) is an exceptional lady. I made a mistake with my booking, which she took days to sort out for me, as if it was purely a minor inconvenience. The flat is in the perfect position for Matlock bath attractions. The flat was clean, homely, warm and welcoming. I will be returning here for sure, as it would be a great base to use for many surrounding areas. The off road, private parking space is also a huge asset. Access to a beautiful, shared courtyard to use in warmer months

The address was a bit tricky to find, even with sat nav and great directions from the host

This was a really lovely place to stay, comfy beds, cozy lounge area and everything you need if you need it in the kitchen area (sorry, I'm not cooking on my holiday lol). Maureen was lovely and fab communication. This place is a great base. Matlock Bath itself is busy during the day, although lovely walks on the other side of the river, but it's pretty quiet in the evening, not everything is open. The Fishpond was our fave pub, fab food, nice vibe. There is the Rose Cottage and the Midland pub (the Midland doesn't open in the evening and we never tried this). The train is very close and super cheap so you can train to Matlock to enjoy the pubs/restaurants there, as more choice and then get to stay somewhere lovely and quiet in the evening. We loved the heights of Abraham. We went to Matlock by train, just over the bridge to the left is the Mad Hatter and they do a lovely brekkie but much better they make a croffle (croissant waffle) absolutely delicious 😋 and then evening we loved Buddy's smokehouse but you have to book. We do love a good smokehouse lol. We did loads more that's just a few ideas. We will definitely come back, it was such a good base and lovely place 😊

Maureen was very helpful and the ground floor apartment clean and tidy. Everything was provided in the kitchen and in the bathrooms. Beds were very comfy! Parking was right outside the main door and Maureen allowed us to park there a bit later after we checked out as we visited the Heights of Abraham. Thank you very much indeed.
