Ocean Rose I - Old Naxos Town

We stayed in ocean rose one for 3 nights and were blown away by mary’s hospitality. The room is compact, but has everything you need inc iron, hanging space, table, hob, sink and lovely rooftop terrace. The room was also perfectly clean and the bed comfortable. The location is the true selling point here as it is literally in the centre of the old town, but down a residential road which remained quiet at night. There is a bakery and grocers seconds away which is very convenient. Mary really made our trip with her kindness and generosity. She lives close to the apartment so was easy to contact and helpful telling us the best spots in naxos, information about the island etc. She was so friendly and kind to us, bringing us sweet treats, and even a parting gift at the end of our stay. We really felt in safe hands and that, if we were to have any requests or issues, they would be dealt with efficently. We will definitely remember Mary’s kindness for many years to come. It is a perfectly enjoyable and functional room with a charming authentic feel which I would recommend staying in.

Our stay at Ocean Rose was an amazing experience. Mary is a fantastic host, she is a local who can give you the best advice and recommendations for the area. We have loved staying in a traditional old town Naxos home in the middle of the labyrinth with all its quirks!! We loved going along to the bakery and super market next door in the morning to sit and enjoy our breakfast on the roof terrace where, you can spot the temple of Apollo. There are amazing restaurants and bars nearby like, Lithos, Oniro, Metaxi Mas, Belman and lots more. Also, the port is just a short walk away. The apartment is small but it has everything you need such as AC, coffee machine, iron + board, hair dryer, fridge, induction hobs with pots and pans etc. The local beach is nice but the local busstop is by the port (5 mins walk) and it is 20-30 minutes to Plaka beach. During the summer they're every 30minutes. Super easy and cheap (you buy a return ticket from the shop by the stop at the port). Also catamaran trips are so much fun! All the locals were so nice and welcoming. Mary made our trip feel so special and not like we were just going on holiday but that we were family.

The only thing that could be better is the Wi-Fi. it is there but it’s pretty weak. Didn’t bother us much because we were on holiday.
