Very poor accommodation - no positives

Instructions to find keylock were incorrect & wrong, when called the host, they did not answer and said they busy and can only speak on txt. He kept saying all information was in previous message repeatedly, but it turned out to be wrong as the key box did not have the initials on it, as he indicated, and the code was wrong. He eventually gave another code and that worked, but the box was empty!! The "cleaners" came and shoved the key in the box, despite us standing waiting. When we got past the gate, there was no signage/ instructions on where our flat was, and the cleaner told us the lift was not working. We walking around aimlessly with 2 kids and luggage and had to try find the flat which was on the 3rd floor. The flat was so so disgusting and disappointing. As soon as we arrived, there were lots of midges in the living area, told the host. Who was completely dismissive and wanted a picture, which was hard to capture as they are tiny midges that bite! He said they never had this problem before and probably due to being close to the trees, and no alternative accommodation could be offered and that we had to complain to booking.com. He could have offered to check and bring bug spray- he did not, and we had to go and get bug spray, so that the time there was bearable. We had to go and get antibacterial wipes to wipes surfaces down as they felt so dirty. Towels and bedding was mismatched and flithy. The bed sheets were dirty and did not look as they had been washed, as they had hair and flaked skin on them. The bed sheets had grubby stains, blood and something pink on the. The carpets were filthy. The sofa had stains on it. The beds were so springy and uncomfortable. The location was OK, didn't feel safe in the area and there was broken glass on the roads and pavements. The flats were a mixture of residents & people who were visiting. Some of there people were drunk and unsavoury, not the safest or kind of place to bring kids.

Nice apartment close to everywhere we wanted to go to. Shops, restaurants. The place was not stressful at all. We had everything at our disposal I did not even need to call the host for assistance. Kitchen had every equipment we needed.

The area is a but sketchy. But we did not encounter any problems out there.

I enjoyed wide space within the apartment
