Convenient & cosy 3 bed house

Overall a disappointing experience. We arrived late at night to Mon Bank House and found that there was no heating and no hot water. We had to stay in those conditions for the first night, which is not acceptable. I contacted the host the following morning and we were then moved to another property. However, the alternative accommodation was also not satisfactory. The mattress was very uncomfortable and sagging, making it difficult to sleep, and we found dirty dishes in the cupboard, which raises concerns about cleanliness standards. Communication was not always professional, as I was initially contacted via WhatsApp instead of through Booking.com. In addition, the security deposit was only released after I had to follow up multiple times, despite being told it would be returned the next day. Overall, the issues were not handled to an acceptable standard.

This was a lovely property and looked exactly as it did in the photos. The kitchen was well equipment ( plenty of crockery, etc for the 5 of us stayjng) and everything was very clean. The beds were comfortable, and it was great that toiletries such as shower gel were provided. The owner was very responsive to messages and really helpful when we contacted her. I would recommend this property if you are looking to stay in Newport.

As there were 5 of us, we could have done with an extra dining chair, but there was a spare chair in the lounge which we used.
