Sea & Mountain View 4 Bedroom

Great location in the middle of the small village of Leynar, and easy to get to since there is one road into and out of the village. Keys were in a lockbox which we had the number to, so no problem getting in. House was big, and lovely, and just as described. There were a few staples necessary for cooking already there, and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and pans. As with much of the Faroes, it was not near a grocery store, so you will need to stock up with food before you arrive if you expect to do any cooking, but it is near a gas station which has some basics. The view, no matter what the weather, was phenomenal, looking right down onto the nearby beach area, and walking down through the village to the beach is also very interesting and scenic. Beds were comfortable, main bathroom is huge and has a heated floor, and there is a deck overlooking the ocean. Plenty of parking space for a couple of cars.

It took us a while to find the trash bags in the drawer under the fridge (freezer is in the laundry room), and to figure out how the oven worked, so instructions for that would be nice, but these are very minor annoyances!

This house has amazing views and is in convenient location to explore many sights in the Faroe Islands. Its a very peaceful place. The house has all amenities one could wish for. No restaurants nearby, but this is not unusual for many locations in the Faroes. The kitchen is very well stocked for self-catering. The host was very responsive and proactive with communication. Would recommend.

We stayed here 9 nights and loved it! This house lacked nothing; it was clean, peaceful, warm and friendly, with lots of personal touches, all the mod cons and, well, that stunning, ever-changing view…. There are no shops or restaurants in Leynar, but it is ideally situated between the airport and the route to the other islands, and Sjurður's house was a true home away from home we were slow to leave in the morning and loved returning to at the end of the day. Thank you - we'll be back!
