The Hopps - New, Stylish Loft

The location was great in walking distance of the town centre. The welcome breakfast items were a nice touch. Decor throughout was lovely.

No running hot water out of any of the taps only the electric shower had hot water so had to use hot water from the shower to wash up. Messaged the hosts and got no response. Messaged the hosts on another occasion to ask if there was an iron but had no response.

The flat itself is nice. Good location.

Unfortunately the service wasn’t good. We arrived on a very hot day in May. All windows were closed and the heating had been left on. As it is a loft, the place was boiling. Even with the fan we could not cool the place down. We then realised the fridge had been left off, so the milk was curdled. The bread provided was out of date. Under the kitchen sink, cereal bags were all left open to the air instead of in containers… We started to question when the flat was last checked. We then opened the bathroom bin and it had been left full of used nappies… whoever was employed to service the flat had not done a good job. The hosts were responsive and apologetic and brought fresh breakfast items in the morning for us which was nice. However the disappointing part was they confirmed in writing they would refund us the cleaning fee, but then told Booking.com that they wouldn’t. We messaged the host about this and they ignored us. Eventually we got this refunded from Booking.com but we shouldn’t have had to chase. This would be a nice place to stay if a good service was provided.
