40 Bernisdale - Shepherds Hut

We had a really lovely stay. The Shepherds Hut views were glorious from our bed. It was amazingly compact and had all we needed. Rachael was a perfect host & nothing was too much trouble.

It was cozy and clean. Good lactation. Some food and drinks were provided, which was great. There's a little room next door where you can keep your stuff. Kind hosts.

It's obviously pretty small, although they try to make up for that with the room next door and storage under the bed. You might also hear sheep all throughout the day, but they were really cute. Price is honestly pretty high, but compared to the rest of the Isle of Skye it was the most affordable. I guess the whole island is just expensive.

Very easy to get to and not far from Portree. Ample parking, nice seating area outside. Nice outdoor seating and views. Well insulated and cozy. Great amenities.

Property was great. It is a hut so folks shouldn’t be surprised with tight space.

Super cute and cozy, was really clean, had everything we needed for our 4 day stay and was really central to everything we wanted to visit. Rachael checked in with us several times and even left us a bunch of starter items for breakfast (bread, eggs, milk, butter, coffee and tea) that was so helpful and sweet!

Since it rained a bunch, there was really only one stool to sit on inside (other than sitting on the bed) and we didn't want to get the bed covers dirty so a second folding chair would be helpful!

The hut was gorgeous, very cosy and a perfect size for someone solo travelling. The bed was SO comfortable! Rachael was a brilliant host, kept in contact for updates and kindly popped some breakfast supplies in the hut for me as I was arriving late, which was such a lovely gesture. The location was ideal, 10mins out of Portree so great for exploring the North of the island, but also in a nice quiet area. You're located on the grounds of their home but the way the hut sits you feel a miles away from everyone. I didn't want to leave this place and will definitely be checking availability here before anywhere else when I'm next in Skye.
