101, Valletta Boutique Escape

It was in a nice area ,very close to center of city, also close to a rocky beach area,quite sound proof once you close the door and window. The host was very nice ,polite ,kind, adding to his credit : he gave us much information on wverything worth seeing and how to get there using both a printed version of direction and a digital one. No sun in that street that can be good or bad depending the needs.

Since the area is very humid so are the houses due to the ancient stones they are build with, so be prepaired for quite the moldy air inside . other than that , I wish i was informed that the owener of the above floor had constructions going on while guests where in the first appartment .He delayed the construction so we ended up having noise and rocks falling on our doorstep. They even talked very loudly at early morning. Note : this was not Mrs Antoine mistake the owner of our appartment.

Honnêtement, je n’ai rien apprécié.

C’est la pire expérience depuis que j’utilise vos services. L’établissement était très sale. La vaisselle, la douche était bouchée… Le mobilier cassé/ abîmé. Il est indiqué qu’il y a un micro-onde, je ne l’ai jamais trouvé. Les photos ne reflètent pas la réalité. L’établissement était en travaux, ceci n’est pas spécifié. Nous étions donc réveillé tous les matins à 6h du matin. Cet établissement ne devrait plus être à disposition des clients.

this is without doubt the most unpleasant holiday experience I have ever had. We had trouble locating the property. When we eventually got there the building was covered in scaffolding, The code supplied through booking.com did not work. I contacted the owner who told me what it was. The keys were missing, contacted owner again, he told me the previous guest still had the keys and would be with us in 10 minutes. When he arrived he opened the door and we had a chat, he warned us construction work was in progress and it started very early in the morning. There was an overpowering musky dank smell. The property had not been cleaned or prepared. The bed was unmade and two towels were on the bed, one small and one large. I sat on the bed and it was a thing foam mattress, there was no way I was going to sleep on it The property did not resemble what was on booking.com. We were in the property for 5 minutes, I took a couple of photos, booked a hotel online (via booking.com). Our stay worked out at €100 per minute, the smell was disgusting. The new booking set me back over €1000. How this place has been allowed to be put up for rent is beyond me. when we left my wife was in tears

Everything, this property is unfit to be on booking.com. I am contacting the Maltese Tourist Authority to have it investigated.

It was conveniently located. A grocery store less than 5 minutes away, and a wonderful pizza restaurant too. The studio apartment was quite comfortable, with a great little kitchen, so that I could prepare breakfast and I even ate in and cooked a couple of nights. An adequate little ensuite with lovely hot water. No toiletries though. A microwave oven would be useful. The owner provided lots of useful information.

I read a lot of the other negative reviews. You get what you pay for, and I always go budget. If you want 5 star luxury, then pay for it. I did not find it dirty. Okay, there is a lot of construction going on in the street, and it can be noisy, but there is construction going on all over Malta; cranes and scaffolding all over the place.

We stayed in the beginning of November. The location is good, especially the fact that there’s a very few grocery stores in Valletta and this apartment is very lucky to have a mini market nearby. In general the apartment is ok for the price.

The bed sheets had stains on it…. Also there were no blanket, only a tiny bed sheet. Maybe it’s okey for summer but that is not enough to feel cozy in November. It was cold at night :( The biggest minus is that we were not informed at all that the building is in the construction process. The repair works in neighbour apartments was starting AT 6-7 AM!!!! WTF????? We couldn’t sleep we couldn’t rest. We had a feeling that the workers gonna break the wall.
