Nothing, prefer to been told upfront that it was unfinished basement flat.

The only good thing was where it was

Dirty/ everything was unfinished, dirty bedding leaking ceilings, electric went off as there was no credit the garden and front of the front door was full of fag ends the people upstairs were very loud the main bedroom the bed was broken

The property was well located.

I was very disappointed with the stay and have lodged a complaint with booking.com and the owner, who is totally unresponsive. Do not waste your money at this sub standard accommodation, or use booking.com who do not protect you against bad accommodation. The property is under going refurbishment and is not finished and ready for occupation. The external space as advertised is dirty and dangerous with building supplies not stored securely and a hole in the courtyard, where drainage cover is missing. The boiler really needs to be enclosed, it is noisy and dangerous for children, given the exposed water pipes and sharp corners. It is also badly located in the bedroom and therefore disturbs those when the hot water is running elsewhere. There is no carbon monoxide alarm either. The kitchen is unfinished and not stocked for 6 persons (not enough chairs, plates, cutlery etc). There are no oven trays or oven gloves. The chairs in the kitchen are badly put together and slide over when sitting on them. Finally there were not enough beds, the bedding was missing and the bed slats were not in place properly which meant we have to put it back together as it collapsed. The sofa bed is too small for 2 people to share. The front entrance is steep with no handrail, the front door is swollen and difficult to open or close. The vault to the front door should be sealed off. I had asked for a refund from both the owner and booking.com. I am hopeful, but until then hope others don’t stay at the Property until it’s actually ready for guests.

Location was best aspect of this for us and our requirements, specifically we wanted to be very close Sea Lanes out door pool. The choices of colour in respect of decoration were modern and tasteful. Double bed was comfortable.

Where to start. The property felt that builders had just left, not done a good or cleaned up after themselves. The plinth board on the kitchen units fell forward when opening the dishwasher...no one had installed the requisite clips to hold secure to the legs of the kitchen unit. The side elevation of the kitchen unit was not flush with the floor, with gap sufficient to put your finger under it and not even touch it. One cannot walk down either side of the double bed, you have shuffle side-on to get to the head of the bed. There is also no wardrobe or draws to put cloths anywhere!! Thankfully only there for two nights. The second bedroom has the combination heater for the property, that is not even boxed in (incredibly noisy)...what idiot does this! There is only a single bed in this room. The on suite bathroom has a leak in the ceiling, which has made a mess of the plaster. Heating pipes are exposed, which is not safe , especially for young children. There are various places where painting had not been finished and masking tape was still left in place. The steps down into the basement apartment are not for the infirm (no hand rail), with the short walk way to the front door, which is like a building site...Frankly your better off going elsewhere...this was a complete waste of money.

One toilet didn't work or flush. There was a weird drain smell throughout the apartment. The second bedroom room advertised as a twin is in fact a single room with pullout bed underneath. Definitely wouldn't comfortably sleep 6 as advertised. The key doesn't work well and it took us 30 minutes to get in.

Extremely clean, nice and modern, very well presented apartment super impressed with the price and will definitely book again when back in Brighton

The flat is not ready for occupancy. While the photos look good, the renovations are not finished internally or externally. There was no mention of this prior to booking. For example, the flooring was not done in the hall, the electrics by the entrance were naked, water leaked through the bathroom ceiling following rain, the front door was so stif my daughter was unable to open it.... I could go on. One night the electricity was cut off. The landlord was unresponsive an unhelpful. Did not answer messages or calls.
