If you are looking for somewhere comfortable, cosy and stylish to stay, I wouldn't hestitate to book this accommodation. We loved our time here, so much so, we preferred to stay in, in the evenings, rather than venturing out, it was just so relaxing. No issues with parking (which is always a plus) and perfectly located as a base for exploring the area (there are so many interesting places within an easy distance). We were so lucky to come across this property; as we booked our stay very last minute; and it really made our holiday.

Nothing. The owners had really thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible and went the extra mile in providing a lovely welcome basket.

"The Anvil's perfect setting for exploring Cornwall's natural beauty and charming villages"

10.0

Our stay at The Anvil was truly magical, offering the perfect combination of comfort, style and an ideal location for exploring Cornwall's diverse attractions. The Anvil is strategically located, providing easy access to Cornwall's best features. It's a sweet spot between the north and south shores, allowing visitors to enjoy a variety of beaches - from rugged, surf-friendly beaches to more relaxed, family-friendly stretches. Nature lovers will appreciate the proximity to Cornwall's famous gardens and nature reserves, which offer opportunities to explore lush subtropical landscapes and protected areas rich in flora and fauna. Most of the attractions are within a 30-45 minute drive, making it an excellent base for day trips. This charming "bottom to top" cottage is meticulously designed. The upstairs living area boasts a cozy atmosphere with vaulted ceilings, while the fully equipped kitchen is functional and incredibly cute. It opens onto a wonderful outdoor seating area, perfect for relaxing and, surprisingly, stargazing. Due to low light pollution, on clear nights, this area becomes a paradise for amateur astronomers. We were lucky enough to see the Perseid meteor shower, which counted an amazing 20 meteors per hour! The comfortable bedrooms guarantee peaceful nights. The first-class bathroom contributes to the general sense of luxury of the place. Lucy and George are exceptional hosts, their thoughtfulness is evident in every detail. From the spotlessly clean rooms to the welcome basket full of fresh bread, eggs, milk and delicious apple juice, they thought of everything. They are incredibly responsive, always willing to help with any questions or needs. The meetings with Lucy were the highlight of our trip, and reminded us why we prefer such accommodations over hotels - the opportunity to connect with wonderful people makes the experience truly special.

There was simply nothing to dislike...

"I really wished I could have stayed there forever."

10.0

I loved absolutely everything about this special cottage! The moment I found this serene gem surrounded by trees I was so happy. Lovely Lucy was there to greet us and ensure we had the best stay ever in The Anvil. A charming upside down cottage with extra comfy beds in delightful rooms. The best bathroom ever! And upstairs is a lovely big extra comfy sitting room with beautiful vaulted ceilings! And right next to that is the perfect kitchen! Which leads out onto my new favourite deck in the world! Extremely well done and super comfortable lounge and table with lovely chairs and cushions! And of the fabulous fairy lights at night. I could not have been happier! It’s definitely the best cottage I’ve ever stayed in by far. And I have stayed in many many cottages over the years. Only a very few have come close to being as beautiful and lovely and full of warmth and charm as The Anvil.

Well that’s a difficult question. Only one thing we forgot to ask Lucy for was some aluminum foil. Everything else and more was provided. Beautiful welcome gifts from Lucy and George! There simply was not anything to not like about the property.

Spotlessly clean and well presented. Really well equipped, big bed and designated parking space. We had a perfect stay.
