Serenity Retreat - 2 Bed Apartment with Pool & Gym

Serious issues with payment, communication, and safety. The listed price on Booking.com was USD 297.84, but the host refused card payment and demanded local cash payment only, including a deposit, which was not clearly stated in advance. On arrival (around 23:00), we were left waiting for about 40 minutes without any check-in instructions, which was concerning given the late hour. During the stay, the host stopped communicating with me (the booking holder) and instead contacted my co-guest directly, causing confusion and lack of transparency. More seriously, security personnel were sent to our room at night, and my co-guest was told we would be forced to leave the next morning unless immediate payment was made. Under this pressure, partial payment was made without my involvement. Despite already paying approximately half, we were still told to vacate the property the following day. In total, we paid more than the listed price, and the deposit has not been refunded. I strongly recommend confirming payment terms and conditions in advance if considering this property.

просторные чистые апартаменты в закрытом ЖК. Тихо. Болт/Глово привозит все заказы за 15-20 минут, никуда выходить не надо. Кухня большая, всё есть. Хороший интернет. Отличная мебель - но вообще в Кении везде хорошая деревянная мебель.

бассейн на крыше не работал (хотя было довольно холодно). 2 раза за день выключался свет на несколько часов - но это обычное дело в Найроби. очень слабый напор воды в душе и вообще неудобный санузел

Friendly, helpful owner, responding very quickly. Left some milk and eggs for us to get us started. Nice furniture and comfortable mattress in the small bedroom. Central location.

Unfortunately the pool was empty due to broken tiles. The apartment has a moist problem. It's very humid and so there is a smell, especially in the bathroom and small bedroom. The bed in the small bedroom is too narrow to sleep 2 European sized people comfortably. The ironboard has a broken cover leaving stains on our clothes, ruining them. The washing machine didn't remove any stains from our clothes and was completely covered in other people's soap. Quite some noise in the corridors from playing children, but only during the day.
