The price and comfort

The cottage has everything you need after hiking in the unpredictable Lake District weather. Heating, extra blankets, bath tub and Amazon prime to relax on the sofa with the hot cup of tea. Beds are big, and the kitchen is well equipped. We didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the lovely garden, as it was pouring every day. Good choice of books.

Super Lage zum Lake District. Der Garten ist schön.

Als wir das Haus betraten kam uns sofort ein modriger Geruch entgegen. Schnell stellte wir auch schwarzen Schimmel fest. Die Decke Im Wohnzimmer hatte massive Wasserschäden. Als wir die Dusche im ersten Stock ausprobierten, lief das Wasser darunter an Wohnzimmerwand runter! Das Haus, besonders die Küche waren nicht richtig sauber geputzt. Überall klebte irgendwas. Das schlimmste war aber der Geruch, die Dusche und der Schimmel. Wir wollten eigentlich 7 Nächte bleiben, haben uns aber nach 2 Nächten was anderes gesucht. Der Vermieter wollte uns eigentlich einen Teil vom Preis erstatten, meldet sich jetzt aber nicht mehr. Das Haus dürfte in diesem Zustand nicht vermietet werden!

Nothing really. We stayed both nights because we had already paid but we didn't enjoy it at all.

On opening the front door we were met with a dreadful musty smell which lingered for the duration of our stay. The small house needs a complete makeover as the walls are scuffed and marked, the furniture is just different items thrown together and needs renewed as do the soft furnishings. It needs a big dose of TLC. The garden also needs a good clean up. Not our usual choice of accommodation but it sounded better online unfortunately we found it was neither inviting nor relaxing .

Location was great. Cottage has almost everything you need for a comfortable stay including sugar and salt and coffee and so much more. Enough space for 4 of us. Great neighbours.

Lots of hair found on the bed even though the sheets looked clean and spotless. Hairs was a big turn off. Also found a spare pillow case lying under the duvet on the bed. Seemed like was cleaned in a rush. Parking in front of property a bit hit and miss. Doesn't mean that you can't find a parking but may have to walk 5 minutes. Lots of 🕷 spiders which my daughter is scared off so she didn't enjoy as much. Not complaining but stairs a bit tricky for someone elderly with leg pain.
