Good location within walking distance from the train station and close to all sights of the village (bridges). Spacious room. Kettle. Good value for money. Cannot comment on onsen as I have not used the facilities.

The rooms are falsely advertised as single rooms when they are in fact all twins. Because of this, we had to book 3 separate rooms for 3 people and when we arrived and found out we had 6 beds, I spoke to the staff on the desk and it was the only time in Japan I had a rude encounter. I tried to explain that their advert was misleading and it had cost us an extra £100 for a 3 night stay because we didn't need the extra room. He just tried to blame booking.com, and when I pointed out that the hotel makes their advert and not the website, he started refusing to read what I was writing and just shooed me away, saying he wasn't going to repeat himself and that it's not his problem. It was pretty frustrating. If anyone books with them, heads up that all rooms are twins...

Nice and very big room, nice onsen

The village is not really interesting and very far from nikko

Very spacious room and no tobacco smell even if the hotel allows smoking. It's a pity they don't have non-smoking rooms though. Fridge and kettle in the room. Everything one needs for onsen available to borrow. Two nice little onsen baths one inside (up to 6-7 people max) and one outside (3 people max). Clean and spacious. The host was welcoming and tried to be helpful. I enjoyed the stay but maybe not in the off season when all the restaurants are closed. I enjoyed the stay.

Please note there is no restaurant there. Only chips and cup noodles as meal options. I was not ready for it when I arrived. Please add this to the description. It would be great to have skin lotion or face products as in other onsens (this would have improved my score). There was also no one at the front desk in the middle of the day to leave my bags with. Onsen available only in the evening and early morning(please add this to the description).

The room is a steal for the price I paid for it. Huge room, nice and clean, beautiful view of the mountains I had a very comfortable stay. If you want a relaxing stay for cheap it's definitely worth it

The staff spoke very little English and even with Google Translate they didn't seem to want to help when it came to getting to and from the train station and finding food to eat. There is a bus that you can get to the train station, but wasn't clear when to reserve a seat on the bus and they wouldn't help me book a taxi when I need to get to the station with my luggage.

The room is huge for solo, can fit at least 3-4 pax. Great in room facility.

Onsen not allowed for traveller with tattoo, despite not many guests. Need to book private onsen for 3k yen. The front desk staff was rather rude and impatience when I asked if I could just sit at the reception while waiting for check-in. I was about 2 hours earlier. Btw there were no responses on booking.com app when you text them. Cos those are computer generated messages. The interior is dated and somewhat haunting. They do have nice public onsen for sure, and ample area for guests to hang around. Do note that there are only two conbini, both are 15 min walking distance
