Ironbridge Hot Tub Retreat - Sleeps 10

Hot Tub, beds, location, lounge.

Kitchen old and needs replacing, not enough sauce pans, maybe add some weighing scales Cobwebs in bathroom on floor so not clean, Lock on bathroom loose will break off one day The Bunk bed was broken and I would say a safety issue. Luckily we had a blow up bed so used that. My issue is m lad is 15 and heavy, if someone like him was in top bunk they could role out of bed the frame could snap, if someone fell on it they could really hurt themselves. Camera in garden, we didn't want to be watched all weekend we weren't advised about this at booking time otherwise would not book Only half the jets worked in the hot tub. You sent me an email in error requesting £200 which I had to query.

We loved this cottage. It catered for all our needs and had everything we wanted. Great location, a shop at the end of the road and a short walk to the town.

Excellent location, Ironbridge is lovely and Blist Hill Victorian Village was a delight!

The whole property had many issues: Firstly, the most worryingly of all was the camera focused on the hot tub. The hot tub was lovely but only used sparingly due to our concerns of having a camera situated on the fence, directly focusing on the hot tub. This was very unnerving as we were unsure as to why this was needed. There was no warning outside that we were being filmed, and this was only hinted in the guest book, which we found AFTER we used the hot tub. This would have been a deal breaker when booking if we knew that we (including 2 young teenage girls) were going to be filmed in our swimsuits! Due to the nature of the law regarding filming, we should have been informed at booking that this was the case, we weren’t! Secondly the standard of cleaning was minimal. Floors were dirty and after wearing white socks for less than 10 minutes we had to change them due to them being grimy underfoot. Property advertised as providing slippers – there were none. The crockery and glasses needed to be washed before use, as they were dirty. There were urine stains around toilet in main bathroom and there were stains on curtains in one of the double bedrooms. In the front double bedroom, the windows were grimy and green, this hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Only 2 wine glasses provided. The maintenance in the property left a lot to be desired: No threshold bars between the kitchen and the dining room, Loose tiles around the boxing below the boiler cupboard, Random hole in worktop, Loose cornice on top of cupboard, fell off when cupboard door opened and struck me on the shoulder, Board above boiler with carbon monoxide detector attached, hanging off and dangerous, Cheap threadbare carpet on the stairs, One bulb in ceiling light in the double bedroom, Peeling wallpaper in the bunk bedroom, No lock on main bathroom door, Tiles coming away from the wall near the shower, Poorly fitted shower screen in both bathrooms, Cracked ensuite window.

Lovely location ,very homely we had the front double room which was very comfortable slept like a baby all weekend. Not far from shops and iron bridge itself. Lovely walks around. We went with the family and had a lovely time.

There wasn't anything really that we didn't like the only 2 things I could suggest is maybe a little side table in the living room to be able to put drinks on and there were 9 of us said it sleeps 10 people but only 8 chairs around the table so one had to sit separate to us with a small table we took with us. They kinda felt a bit left out with everyone sitting together. We could have squeezed up to fit them around the table, but there weren't any extra chairs. Apart from this we had a lovely time. Floors were very creaky

The property location was quite central and very close to the iron bridge, the surrounding areas had some really nice walks. There is a park close by for the kids too. All the Ironbridge museums are a short drive away (10 mins in different directions). The properly itself was spacious. The hot tub was a nice touch, it had an outdoor seating area and provided blankets.

The only downfall is no downstairs bathroom. After using the hot tub and trying to get to the bathroom upstairs, means running through the living room and the floor is then very wet and slippery. One of the children slipped but luckily not injured. The walls are quite thin and the bunk bed was VERY squeaky! This kept quite a few people up in the next rooms. Maybe a little oil could have helped. Lastly, not a massive issue but spiders in the rooms. I didn't mind, but I had to remove 11 from both the kids rooms as they were scared of them. Other than that, everything else was positive. Id stay again.
