"Exceptional"

The hotel is just a few minutes away from the beach. They had a children’s club that my kids really liked. Staff were so friendly Kelyane who assisted us late at night.

"I won't be back.. woudn't recommend... it needs an upgrade ASAP"

We loved the breakfast choice, lunch was very nice and staff in hotel were lovely, Train outside was great.

We found this stay very disappointing. Hotel is absolutely not a 4 star hotel. It is run down, needs upgraded hugely. Poolside was horrible, tiles are falling off, beds are broken, toilets by the pool look like public toilets for the whole of the Algarve! Toilets inside the hotel in reception were smelly and really outdated. I was glad i hadn't booked to stay any longer than the 2 nights, i would have checked out early.

Location and breakfast

Booked a deluxe sea view only to find it was a partial sea view. When I asked i was informed that superior sea view was the best room and unavailable. Last time I checked a deluxe standard generally sits above superior in terms of luxury and space. They need to clarify their ratings for rooms.

"Exceptional"

6th visit to the Dom Joao and loved being there at the start of the season. Staff were exceptional, the hotel has upgraded a few features, leisure room, gym, dining and pool tables all much improved. It is perfectly located, a pleasant walk into Alvor with it's excellent restaurants - very relaxed and a home from home for our family. Great memories.

The hotel can be very busy in peak season in August and we found it much more appealing in June.

"Volte sempre"

O espaço exterior é grande com muita relva Piscina exterior também é boa. Piscina interior também é boa. A localização é espectacular... estamos em cima da praia. Os espaços entre corredores também sao muito bem decorados. Zona de lazer BAR/Restaurante tambem muito boa. Pequeno almoço é dentro do que se espera do grupo pestana. Salientar o staff... recepção foram impecáveis. Senhora da limpeza extremamente simpática.

Kids clube fechado... Parque infantil fechado Telefone do quarto amarelo de ser velho. Não tenho muito para falar negativo.
