Host & Stay - Good Vibes at Buckingham

The property was a great location, close to the train station and the city centre and it wasn't too loud on the street. It comfortably sleeps up to four people but only for a short stay - it's quite small for any longer with that amount of people.

It was filthy - there was what looked like dog fur on the carpet, it looks like it hasn't been hoovered in weeks, the bathroom was dirty, there was literal bugs in the sofa when making it up into a sofa bed. I feel like if the owners don't do the cleaning they should inspect whoever does as it's not good. The toilet also constantly fills up - so you could hear water dripping into it throughout the night. The commonways to get to the apartment is also filthy and damp. I also had to ask to stop getting emailed as they kept asking for an extra security deposit in-case of any damage, trying to upsell us to private chefs and experiences and this was very frequently although they did respect this and stop as soon as I asked.

Great location, everything was within walking distance.

Heating took a long time to come on and no parking was an issue.

Clean. Pleasant. Convenient location near rail station and close to city center. Will fit 3 people nicely but 4 would be too cozy for some.

Couch needs some sort of cushioning. Anything or else pile lots of pillows on it. Can’t sit or sleep on it for more than an hour. This is been mentioned before. Kitchen is sparse on pans including a warped fry pan that doesn’t stay on the burner. There is nothing that can be put in the oven. Needs replace of cork screw and can opener. Nonetheless, managed to make a nice Christmas dinner but had to buy aluminum pans for the food going in the oven. Need to leave more toilet paper. 1 roll for 4 people for 5 days isn’t enough. On Christmas Day had to go out to buy toilet paper. We laughed about it but not everyone will. Stairs are dark. No light at all. This is probably a building issue rather than this specific property but falling down the narrow stairs is uncomfortable and owners should voice this to the building owner. It has been mentioned before. These are all little things but when traveling, they go a long way to make it go from good to great.

Small but bright, close to the station and town. The beds were comfortable. The washing machine was a great addition. When we were there it was very quiet. The TV worked and there were plenty of towels. Very clean.

This is a small flat, 3 people is the absolute maximum. The windows did not open, we managed to open one about 2 ins with great effort. Surely this is a fire hazard. The toilet blocked easily and the seat kept slipping to one side so it couldn't be used. We reported this to Airhost and they did say that they would arrange someone to look at the problem but quite frankly we expected these basic things to be in place before we got there! We don't want to wait in OR leave a key with all our personal belongings around the place. The light on the communal staircase was permanently out which was dangerous if you were coming in after dark. Overall the place needed some TLC...black scuffs, marks and paint chips all over, stained rug, and the sofa was the most uncomfortable we have ever encountered. We spent our time sitting on the hard chairs to watch tv.
