Cozy 1700s farmhouse on Seskarö Island

We had a fabulous stay here. The host Birgit was so lovely and helpful. She gave us loads of excellent suggestions and advice. The house is just as nice as the photos in real life and the beds were super comfy. The outdoor sauna and firepit were good fun. Seskarö is beautiful and the local cafe (The Sailors Cafe) has delicious cake and coffee. We were sorry we hadn't booked a longer stay.

the house is on seskarö island. easy to find. very old house, if you like that, you won't be disappointed. communication with the owner was very easy, he answered almost all our questions and requests immediately. parking is easy in front of the house. no tv and wifi connection. it is in a quiet place. sometimes a moose even looks in the window. there is a small shop on the island, you can buy the most important things there too. a bigger shop is in haparanda, which is 25 minutes by car. the island can also be reached by bus, but these buses run infrequently. the environment, the nature is wonderful.

I had a few problems. the biggest one is that guests can't unpack in the closets because there is no space. we were there for a week, we had to leave our clothes in the suitcase. it would be great if there was a possibility to unpack. the other is the fireplace, which was not working. this should have been announced in advance. I admit, this was a big disappointment for me, because I really like rooms with fireplaces, but there was no option for that here.

Дом совершенно чудесный! Очень уютный, много интересных деталей - можно рассматривать прямо как музей! Много места, большая кухня. Очень удобно спать - тихо, темно, постель прекрасная! Очень дружелюбная хозяйка - мы с ней встретились когда заселялись. Но вообще, заезд и выезд бесконтактный - ключ можно оставлять в сейфе. Парковка рядом с домом. В доме много светильников - когда они включены - очень сказочная и добрая атмосфера получается. Очень тепло - мы были в январе, но в доме можно ходить в футболке. Места вокруг потрясающе красивые - как в зимней сказке! По всем пунктам десять из десяти баллов! Хочется остаться там надолго - очень душевное место!

Ihana talovanhus täynnä kauniita yksityiskohtia! Saunaa ei kannata jättää lämmittämättä, oli hyvät löylyt. Tarjolla olevat pelit ilahdutti. Tunnelma oli aivan ihana, kyllä mieli lepäsi ikeassa vietetyn päivän jäljiltä. Iso suositus tälle paikalle!

The house was gorgeous and I really appreciated the historical feel. There was a box of chocolates and a bottle of glogg waiting for us. It was very warm and cozy. The sauna was AMAZING! The house was very close to the arctic circle and the border of Finland. The hosts were also very friendly and were readily available.
