This must be the place - Skye, Carbost

Lovely cottage with lots of character, beautiful location, comfortable with lots of facilities, good pub in the village. Had everything we needed.

The cleanliness of the property and linen. The view was beautiful. All the facilities one would need.

A noisy wall heater in the back bedroom. The neighbours were very noisy in fact the first night we arrived which was Monday the neighbours had a party, very frustrating as we had travelled a long way and were very tired.

Super clean and cosy place. Really enjoyed the references throughout the house to Wes Anderson’s movie “Moonrise Kingdom”. Immaculate attention to details. Stunning views and very helpful hosts.

The house was in the most amazing location, we arrived in the night so couldn’t see the view but what a spectacular surprise in the morning! The accommodation is really thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable indeed, our host was immediately available for any enquiries and we enjoyed a wonderful stay in this special part of the Isle of Skye.

The location was okay except for Parking. Carrying bags down a small hill in ice and snow was iffy. And parking a rental Car on a narrow road was concerning as the ice makes you wonder about other drivers. The house was okay. Beds were very old (saggy) but the location to the loch was great.

I didn’t like the idea that the owner could control the heat remotely. Never met them but they set the temperature from their location. Kind of creepy! Also, we didn’t feel that we needed a manual (literally) as to how to conduct our vacation. It was off-putting - right down to how we had to clean everything in the house even though we paid 75 pounds for a non-refundable cleaning deposit! We scrubbed and vacuumed and polished and probably left the place better than we found it (as we would, anyway), but then we wondered why we had to pay 75 pounds for this? Annoying at best! The owner’s manual lectured guests as to how to clean their house, and we paid for it! The neighbor was creepy as he kept watching us the entire time we were there! The whole rental approach on their part was so off-putting that we took pictures of everything before and after the stay. There was a hole in the wall by the door in the living room, mold on the ceiling in the bedroom and weird paint scrapes in the bathroom. Other things as well, but I will stop here.

We loved everything about the property, it was beautifully furnished and we had everything we needed. Also loved that it was so close to Talisker, Caora Dubh and The Old Inn which was brilliant. The garden front and back, overlooking the loch, made it so easy for us as we had our dog with us. A great location to base ourselves and we are already dying to come back!

Really lovely cottage, in a beautiful location. Very clean and fresh. Set in a wonderful location, with a Loch just behind the back garden. Very cosy open fire place. Just perfect.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.
