The hosts were kind and made lovely food

it just wasn’t what we expected from the photos. No hot water for a shower, the location is nearly 2km from the centre, the mosquito net didn’t work due to the fan blowing it everywhere and above the door and window there is a section with no glass so ants, mosquitos and cockroaches easily got into the room. It also meant that any outdoor noise especially bus horns could be heard from 6am, Wi-Fi hardly worked

Wonderful hosts who were so charming, helpful and polite. Also the peace and quiet.

From the moment we arrived the family made us feel so so welcome. The room was very clean, comfortable and easy to be in. The kitchen area was very clean and had good array of plates, glasses cups and utensils. The balcony was a peaceful place to sit, waving with people from the village and chatting with the family. Transport to the beach was easy, quick and cheap, thanks to the information from the family. The food that Mama cooked was so delicious and she very kindly showed me how to cook a few dishes. The family made us feel very comfortable, safe and they are amazing people. Thank you so much.

Having to leave and say goodbye.

This place is hosted by the most friendly, helpful and hospitable hosts that I have stayed with in Sri Lanka. The room was on the first floor and had a double bed with an attached bathroom, perfectly clean and comfortable. There was no air conditioning, so the fan was more than enough for when it gets a little warm inside. Amenities such as towels, soap, mosquito nets etc. are all included and if I needed anything they were always ready to provide it for me. There was small kitchenette outside the room, good for doing some light cooking or tea/coffee making. The hosts were kind enough to even offer to cook meals for me, an offer that very gratefully took up and it made my stay that much more convenient for me. The location is in a very quiet area, a little distance away from the Ahangama town center, but transport is not an issue. There was a balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the road that I used to just chill or work while getting some fresh air and to dry my laundry.

The location is a slightly over 1.5 KM inland from the Ahangama town center. But the distance is not an issue as they can arrange bicycles and other modes of transport for you and a tuk-tuk ride from the town center to the house is not that high. At some points the hosts were even kind enough to give me lifts to town using their own personal vehicle!
