Apartment 59 York

Absolutely fabulous - lovely apartment and amazing views. Location was great - about 5 mins walk to the city walls and just over 10 mins to the Shambles with a small Asda just over the road (and a really great bouldering place too if that's your thing!). No parking was included in our booking but like others on here we booked a space on the Asda carpark for the whole stay using Your Parking Space, you can actually see the car from the apartment which is good piece of mind.

Absolutely spotlessly clean and modern apartment!! Everything was almost brand new! Tasteful decor, crisp white bedding and towels, all appliances to high spec. Immaculate!

Very well appointed, well laid out, modern and very comfortable apartment on top 4th floor of fairly new building. Close to a main bus route into York city centre and supermarket nearby. Could also quite walk into centre ~ 15 mins. Nice spacious balcony area overlooking city (although too wet and cold for us to use in late November!) Good communication from letting agent and we were also personally met upon arrival with full explanation of how to gain access into building and up to apartment plus other useful information. Thoughtful ‘welcome pack’ of various snacks provided together with various basics such as washing up liquid, cloths, salt & pepper, etc.and some festive Christmas decorations. A nice touch which was appreciated.

Nothing really to complain about. It was a very cold winter weekend in late November when we visited and although the heating was generally satisfactory and comfortable in other areas - with the very cold conditions, the large space/volume of the main lounge/kitchen area and the tiny size/capacity of the single electric radiator in that area, it just wasn’t adequate for the job. This is really an issue of the building/heating design rather than the fault of the apartment - it was unfortunately very cold that weekend and the lounge never really got fully comfortable heating-wise. Not really a major issue though and guess not normally a factor in more reasonable weather. (However, if you lived there all year round one would probably want some more heating capacity in that particular area.)

Excellent apartment, massive balcony & great location. Nicely furnished, well presented & very comfortable. Sat on the bus route (number 6 into town) with a great view over the city and York minster. Handy having an Asda store only 100 yards away.

Plenty of cooking utensils but no cooking knives or bread knives.

It was well equipped, clean and felt luxurious. The roof top views were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

There was no on site parking which made it difficult for my disabled dad and the nearest long stay parking was a good 15 minute walk. The balcony door was not locked and there was no key available in the apartment which was a bit concerning.

The apartment and view was lovely. Had everything we needed

The lift was broken and we were given no notice. My husband has a bad knee and having to walk up more than 4 flights of stairs everytime we wanted to go out was awful for him. He’s ended up back at the hospital after doing so over the weekend whilst we weee staying here, especially carrying the heavy luggage up them. There was no other option other than to do the stairs as the lift was broken for the whole duration of our stay.
