GBAngels Retreat is a real gem. The van is set up brilliantly for both human and dog with practically everything thought about and taken care of. There was a huge hamper on the table when we checked in with everything we could have needed snack-wise (and we did), plus a box of dog food, treats and bags - as well as dog toys and bowls. The bathroom and kitchen were well stocked with toiletries, handwash and dish washing liquid and the dry store had tea, coffee and some cooking essentials. The van was immaculate and although it was chilly outside, once the heating was on we were perfectly comfortable. There's a huge DVD collection and the sofa is cosy and comfy. The bonus were robes AND slippers. It felt like a little bit of luxury. The site itself is ideally positioned for hikers, close to trail heads on and around the Speyside Way. Boat of Garten has a great pub (the Boat) and a little restaurant (Anderson's) as well as a fantastically stocked post office/general store which also has fresh food.
There's some movement transfer with the double mattress so if you're a light sleeper you'll feel your bedmate moving about but other than that minor detail, there's nothing to improve.
GBExceptionally clean, well looked after and tidy. We only stayed for one night but it looked like it had everything you would ever need for a longer stay. We are very light sleepers and struggle with noise at night but the site was very quiet during the night
Not really a negative but for feedback but Maybe adding a lamp in the living room area for night time when you don’t want the big lights on
