The Backyard No.2

The property was cosy, spacious, and perfect for our family of five adults. There was plenty of room to relax together and enjoy meals or takeaways. The house was spotlessly clean, finished to a very high standard, and the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped with excellent appliances. We appreciated the dedicated parking space, the quiet location, and the friendly host. Check-in was straightforward and hassle-free. The city centre was only around a 20-minute flat walk away, which felt safe at all times, and having a Co-op on the next street was very convenient for essentials. We had a perfect weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The only issue we experienced was that the smoke detector seemed very sensitive. It was triggered while we were cooking breakfast in the oven, and simply opening the oven door set the alarm off. Aside from that, everything was excellent and we would recommend here to anyone!

Lovely and beautiful place to stay with everything you need and lots of thoughtful small touches from the owners like a welcome pack with coffee, tea, milk and biscuits! Great info pack and local recommendations. Very comfortable and cosy. Would happily stay here again.

The smoke/heat alarm went off multiple times when using the oven, even for something as basic as potato waffles! It is too close to the oven - neighbours came to tell us it happens often and not to worry. We ended up having to throw all our food away as it was impossible to cook in the oven and had to spend extra on eating out. It was very upsetting for our Autistic daughter.

A bit far from the centre, and the service is not warm enough The bathroom on the 3 floor is so small for an adult to use

We loved how spacious it was. It was so nice to have that space to eat outside, we had breakfast every morning outside and our last dinner there too. The beds were all comfortable too - thank you for supplying the fans! As the windows didn't open far, these were needed when the temperature got up to 30C!! The location was pretty good too, we got all of our steps in with the 20-25 minute walk to the centre and back every day. Plus having a co-op around the corner was great for last minute bits and bobs, and the odd extra bottle of prosecco:) Thanks for a lovely stay!
