Sunset Lodge 日落小屋 - Simply Minimalistic Rooms with Garden Views at Eco Valley Retreat Balung 豐之谷

Wow - what a location! Clean and comfortable accommodation on top of a hill with amazing views. This place is so nice locals come here. It is rare to get good views in the tropics so this place was a huge surprise. On top of a hill with nice gardens around the buildings this is a great place to stay. Just a few rooms - so it feels very isolated. The room is very comfortable even though 'minimalistic' - adequately air-conditioned to suit ones needs. Outside the room is a pleasant seating area to enjoy being in the tropics when it is not too hot/humid. Facilities for cooking/barbecue are available but meals are also offered at a very reasonable extra charge. Very nice local dishes available. A perfect place to watch Sunrise and Sunset - amazing with tropical forest and plantation views across hills and valleys. Getting here is best done with a car rental so you have easy access, which is up a gravel track clearly sign-posted off the main road, surprisingly high up and less than 20 minutes from the airport. Exploring the local area is then easy also. Friendly staff are around but not intrusive - always smiling.

This place was absolutely wonderful. I would feel incredibly lucky if I can experience a place like this again. It was such a peaceful place to enjoy nature all around you. There were hundreds of different types of flowers and trees everywhere. The views from the top of the mountain are stunning. Watching sunrise and sunset was a treat. We enjoyed every moment of tranquility.

-There no WiFi so bring enough data -Getting to the location was a nightmare. Most grabs will not take you to the location. And we only found out after multiple phone calls that they can pick us up from the main road. It took us a ridiculous amount of time to finally arrive. -This is not a place to travel in and out of. When you book this place, expect to stay put. This was very ok with us! But even with some of the things I disliked, I would choose to come back to this place a million times. It was a wonderful experience.

We were very excited to see this room and the area where we were situated. We ate at the hotel, but to be fair we were the only people eat8n* here and although the cook tried to accommodate us, the meal often arrived cold. Only a few staff could speak English. I was allowed to use the washing machine on site although I don’t think this was a service that was usually provided. I was given suggestions of where to visit that proved to be full of wildlife although I would not have chosen the cocoa plantation myself.

We had a rat in our room for two nights which did not make for a comfortable sleep. When we were moved to a second room it just came into that one too.

Super locatie qua uitzicht en heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam

Het was helaas niet schoon. Ze hebben het nog wel even snel extra schoongemaakt maar was nog steeds niet schoon. Ook hangt er een nare lucht in de kamer en douche.
