Lovely home away from home 4BR 3ba

There were 9 adults, all in town for a wedding. Didn't want to spend a lot of money on hotels so rented a house. We managed to fit everyone on beds except one slept on the couch. Bathrooms all worked good. Neighborhood seemed ok, it's an older part of town. It's a dead end street so no through traffic. There is shopping center with a Target and other stores and places to eat close by. The kitchen appliances we used all worked good, as did the washer and dryer. Didn't see any laundry soap so bring your own (we did). The whole house A/C worked good, kept us comfortable. The rooms also had ceiling fans so that was nice (except the lower bedroom, I don't think it had one). Biggest bed is a double. I'm 6' and just fit on it, but my in-laws are all shorter than me so they were fine. Overall the house seems good (except for the below), it's old but decent.

Check-in time was 4p (3p courtesy check-in) and our flight arrived around 7a (flew in from CA). We hoped to check-in early as we knew we'd be exhausted but they wanted $10/hr for early check-in so we just crashed at our niece's apartment for a few hours instead, slept on their couch, chair and living room floor (only 5 of us at the time). They say it's non-smoking, but the main floor and upstairs completely reeks of cigarettes and it's bad. Even before opening the front door for the first time could smell it. They need to do something about that. It smells like a long time smoker lived there and kept the windows closed and it got into everything. A lot of the screens on the windows are in bad shape, especially upstairs. Bummer when you need to open the windows to get rid of the cigarette smoke reek and not let the bugs in. The lower bedroom next to the garage has a mold like stink to it. It needs to have some ventilation of some sort. It didn't reek of cigarettes though, guess the smoke never made it down there.
