We have found our personal paradise in this enchanted place by the lagoon. The water is incredible. It actually has several shades from turquoise to dark blue and is crystal clear. Right by the water in the shade under the trees, it is a wonderful place to relax even when the temperatures in Bacalar are hot. The area around the huts is completely unspoiled and far away from the noise of the road. If you're traveling by bus like we were, it's a 20-minute cab ride from Bacalar (there's no Uber). Ernesto and Camilla were excellent hosts. As we had no car Ernesto and family drove us all the way into Bacalar for supplies on more than one occasion... We enjoyed the (covered) outdoor shared kitchen immensely. We had all the necessary kitchen supplies to make lunches and dinners plus it was a great way to meet the other guests staying in the huts next to ours. And lastly there are 2 excellent kayaks to use on the lagoon...

The complete room was full with mosquitos and nobody was there when we arrived (even though they confirmed our time of arrival). Left the same evening due to the bad conditions.

The comfortability, the location.. where the villa was situated next to the water. It was very relaxing with beautiful surroundings. I slept so good and felt very safe. We enjoyed the kayaking as well. I would love to come back! The sunrise was breathtaking!
