"The Big Cozy"

8.0

It was a very bijou studio style flat with everything in a reasonably small space. The living area was very comfortable. A lap-tray would be useful to eat off as there is no table inside that is high enough to eat off. The bed is very big and I found it very comfortable. There was plenty of storage space if needed. The bathroom is right next to the kitchen, whether a good thing, or bad, I'm not sure. Convenient anyway. Parking was right outside so that was fine and the owner gives you a key fob for the electric gates which is great. It was very convenient for driving into Kidderminster which took about 7 minutes (3.3 miles away).

I did not use the Hot Tub as that was £35 extra and I am not really a fan of hot tubs. It might be something that should be mentioned in the general details. I do know hot tubs are expensive to run so an extra £35 does not seem unreasonable. But the fact it is not included in the cost should be advertised up front. The garden was very nice. Quite a lot of growth around the building so it was quite dark inside, but not a problem as I was out all day. But it is quite enclosed by the trees and bushes around it, which can make the room smell a bit ''musty' as there is little airflow. Maybe something that could be considered for the future. Opening windows can be an issue with so much growth as lots of insects fly in, although there are net curtains to try to stop them. Some option for eating sitting up would have been useful. Even a folding table and chairs inside (there is a table and chairs outside). There is an office style chair but I would not call it comfortable to sit in.

"Avoid in anything but a scorching summer"

4.0

The UPS of this property is a huge, decoratively exotic and comfortable bed. The room is nicely decorated with quirky bric a brac and a large comfy sofa and good TV. Fresh milk was provided. The kitchen is small, but has just about enough equipment for breakfast. The grounds are pleasant and well kept. It's very close to the Severn Valley Railway, which was my reason for being there.

The room is a converted outbuilding (former garage?) which is inadequately insulated for a cool wet summer. The bathroom is tiny, old fashioned and freezing cold, as is the kitchen, totally inconsistent with the bedroom, which, thank goodness, had a large electric radiator. There was a peculiar strong smell in the kitchen and bathroom, probably damp and mould, I was glad not to to have to spend long there. Except in a hot dry summer, it would be penitentially cold.Unswept leaves outside in the alleyway made it feel depressing, and the private electronic gate off the main road made me feel a bit entrapped. Could be better, I almost left after the first of two nights.

"Bit disappointing. Convenient for the purpose of my visit."

5.0

location. quiet. bed comfortable. plenty of hot water, teabags. Kitchen clean.

Not much natural light. Bedroom took a long time to reach a comfortable temperature. An extra heater would help. Corners of bedroom full of cobwebs, clearly untouched for months. Kitchen and shower room unheated so too cold to hang around in.
