"Pleasant stay but not a property that we would recommend or look to hire again"

5.0

The outside garden was good For four people we had a lot of space

The property is a bit tired and unloved The third bedroom / study is a waste of a room and needs to be rethoughtout

"Good location , enjoyable stay but niggling problems detracted slightly. On quite busy road"

6.0

Good location for getting to nice places. Spacious house with pleasant outdoor space for sitting and pretty semi-wild garden.

There were a few issues with things not working- cooker fan (which was a drag when we were cooking some lovely local fish), the cold tap in downstairs shower room. There was oil leaking from tank by garage which smelt horrible in the garden and downstairs bedroom. There were not the number of beds advertised on this site (2 double, 2 sofa beds) We were a party of 5 people- one couple and 3 single so sleeping arrangements weren’t ideal, though Ali was helpful in trying to sort it out for us. Things were not as clean as they could have been. We found greasy pans in the cupboard and there was hair in the shower plug hole downstairs. Garden was lovely but could be tidied up a bit (brambles cut back) . These things were disappointing as it was a really big treat for us to have a holiday with extended family.

"Idyllic location, lovely living room and dining room."

6.0

Idyllic once arrived. Nice dining and living room - these seem to have been recently updated. Board Games available

Very disappointed that there was building work going on next door. I would have changed my booking if I had known this. It is also accessible via narrow country lanes where other vehicles are not happy to move over etc (obv not the problem of the owners of the house but others should be aware) The fridge was very smelly, the property is dated upstairs, the bathroom lock didn’t work, the bathroom could do with updating, leaflets on the doorstep once arrived, bushes need pruning/trimming outside and our clothes kept catching on them as we came into and out of the house. The garden at the back also needs tidying. Please use more recent photos online or at least make sure the property matches them. I don’t expect to empty the dishwasher on arrival to locate crockery either I would expect a higher standard for the amount that is charged. These comments were all fed back to the house manager during our stay.

"Most enjoyable"

10.0

Well fitted out. Really good condition and well maintained (except the garden). Very comfortable.

No tea pot! No egg cups! Pleas adjust, fix toilet seat in downstairs bathroom…. Men would like it to stay up! Clearer instructions how to reset boiler when no hot water. Relied on Ali. Please tidy up the garden…..

"Home from home"

10.0

Beautiful property in the heart of a lovely village. 10 mins from the beach. Big place with a secure garden. We had our 2 dogs with us. It was a home from home. 5⭐cleanliness. Comfy beds and new sofas. Soft towels.

"A total pleasure - can’t wait for another trip to The Old Bakery"

10.0

Comfortable, exceptionally well furnished and equipped, handy pub, incredible village shop, secluded sun-trap garden. We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more, and will definitely be booking another holiday at The Old Bakery.

Nothing! I can’t write the required 2 or 3 sentences because The Old Bakery was everything we could possibly want. And I am very fussy!

"Great location, with everything needed for a fabulous holiday."

8.0

We had everything we needed to make the stay welcoming and comfortable. There was a range of items in the kitchen we could use to make our stay effortless. We were next to the pub so evenings were catered for and the beaches and coves were only 10 to 20 minutes away by car. The area is beautiful, even though it was wet and misty it didn't stop us exploring.

The downstairs shower room was very small and the toilet was constantly soaked, and took time to dry out. Te main bedroom started to grow mould in the corner, I suspect there was a leak in the guttering outside. The main bathroom was spacious, but again tiny shower.
