La piscina

El primer día cuando llegamos dejamos el móvil cargando y nos fuimos a la playa. Cuando volvimos ya no estaba alguien nos lo robo y el sofá cama estába roto y hera muy incomodo. La playa está a 1'2km así que para ir con niños pequeños está lejos para ir andando por qué a la vuelta es todo cuesta.

The property was clean and tidy , well equipped, the balcony and view was amazing ! The bed was very comfortable, the shower had great pressure , use of washing machine and line was nice to have

Did not have breakfast. Knew Port Royale quite well. Quite central for the town. Good location.

Found out after a couple of days that the room safe was broken,meaning a little difficulty with Passports,Cash etc,but not really a problem. One light not working,again not a problem.,good weather

Clean. View was superb. Apartment manager was very helpful and easy to contact.

The balcony

We were informed the day of our arrival that the pool was closed for 3 weeks despite the notice being available for at least 1 week beforehand-this ruined our holiday as l specifically booked it as it had a pool. When l asked for alternative arrangements, l got NO reply. The apartment is not a one bedroom as advertised-it is a studio,again l paid for a one bedroom when l booked it. It is old and not clean, the drawer was broken and fell off when my partner used it, breaking off his toenail and bruising his foot. One blind had fallen down and was in the wardrobe,while the other was held up with a clothes peg so we couldn't use them. The towels were old,unmatched and threadbare. After 4 days l asked about changing the sheets and was informed l had to clean and wash the floors and there was a washing machine for the towels and sheets to do myself. I was told this was explained in my contract with bookings.com but l checked and it is not. When l asked for spare sheets. in order to wash the ones l had,l also got no reply. We also were told we had to take the rubbish away but not told where to empty it. The toilet flush was broken and my partner had to fix it. It is also leaking. Overall the apartment is not clean,there are old stains on the wall behind the dustbins, dirty behind the lockers,dirty around the shower and the couch is dirty and stained.

Location and view is great. Apartment was clean and tidy. Plenty of towels provided and with the benefit of a washing machine it helped keep everything fresh. Nice washing line outside to hang bedsheets out to air daily. Communication before arrival was good and clear. There was a minor issue with the toilet flush not stopping (cistern kept trying to fill). We used a bucket full of water to flush the toilet, which we've done at home when a similar problem occurred. Raised the problem and it was dealt with the following day, which was a Sunday. Cleaning cupboard is well stocked for everyday cleaning.

The apartment needs some TLC. Another reviewer, earlier this year, mentioned the curtain being held on by a clothes peg - there was only one curtain panel held up by a clothes peg. It meant you couldn't close the curtains at night, or leave the doors open but prevent some of the flying insects or curious pigeons from coming in. On arrival there was a pile of insect eggs by the bed, alongside a red bug tape. We didn't know how long it had been there so left it undisturbed. We did buy some bug spray, just in case we needed it. The sofa had a big stain on it, looked like blue ink. The kitchen drawer front wasn't fully attached to the drawer. It's obviously been broken and repaired several times as you can see from the glue and damage to the dowels and chipboard. There are enough bowls, plates, cutlery etc but mismatched. The pots and pans are non-stick but due to lots of use and scratches they are no longer non-stick. Usually we like scrambled eggs and tomatoes for breakfast but they stuck to the pan, making cleaning the pans a chore - not a favourite activity on holiday, we don't do it at home! So we skipped breakfast and had cold brunches instead. The mesh on the bathroom window needs replacing to stop nosey pigeons from trying to roost on the ledge. The door locks are stiff, so from the inside it can be difficult to open however, if you lift the door a little by the big door knob the twist bolt opens more easily. My husband could do it but I have arthritis in my wrist/hands so couldn't open the door. Could do with ice cube trays that fit in the ice box of the fridge. A shop bought bag of ice won't fit. There is a ceiling fan and a floor standing fan at the apartment but no Aircon. Only saying for clarity and anyone who needs to be kept cool. None of these issues are big or ruin a holiday, it just lessened the comfort and quality factor.

I am very pleased with the property, it was clean, quiet and safe. The hosts were very helpful.
