Stamford - 2 bed terrace house

Good property good location

Fantastic location on pleasant quiet street but only 5 minutes walk from centre of Stamford. Lovely terrace house with two excellent spacious double bedrooms. Warm and comfortable. Lovely Christmas decorations provided by host. Large courtyard garden which was great for my miniature dachshund for his early morning and late-night 'bathroom' visits. There was also a park about 2 minutes away which was handy for dog-walking. Useful utility room and also another covered area which was great for muddy boots etc. Host was very helpful when broadband was down on first evening (not the property's problem but widespread to the area - on again the next day).

It was pretty much perfect but a table lamp or similar in the sitting room might be nice as the overhead light was a bit bleak. A mixing bowl or two in the kitchen might be handy. Also one of those corkscrews with handles. I know lots of wine bottles have screwtops these days but we had bottles with corks and found the old-fashioned style corkscrew a bit tricky - though we persevered and managed it in the end!

Location good for us and quiet at night. Parking good. House clean and tidy, had everything we might have wanted, with one exception, there was no anti-slip bath mat for showering.

Tricky entrance to the house negotiating the front door and steep stairs with a suitcase, but i don't see how this can be altered. Not a complaint.

Great feel about the place and well equipped. A home from home.

Fantastic location, so close to town and 2 mins from a park, yet quiet. Free parking 5 mins walk if needed Could take our dog! Good value and enough space if 4 people Helpful hosts

Double bed mattress too soft for us- felt like airbed when moved. Ended up one of us in twin room to sleep. 2 steep shiny steps to kitchen - so needed to put barrier to stop (old) dog falling - if with small child (solved with a stair gate.
