Riad l'Esprit des Patios & Spa

I stayed at Riad L'Esprit in Marrakech and had a mixed experience overall. Pros: The riad is absolutely beautiful inside, with a charming and authentic atmosphere. The rooftop terrace is a highlight — it features a small pool and the option to have breakfast there, which is a lovely touch. The staff were generally very kind and welcoming during my stay.

Cons: The breakfast could be significantly improved. It mainly consists of simple carbohydrates, with very limited protein (usually just a fried egg), and the selection is almost the same every day, which becomes repetitive. I also tried the spa services. The foot and leg massage was average, acceptable for the price. However, the pedicure was disappointing — one of my nails was cut too short, which caused it to bleed, and there was no apology from the staff member. The rooms are not well soundproofed. One night around 4 a.m., other guests were very loud inside the riad. Unfortunately, there was no noticeable response from the staff, and the noise continued for about an hour, which negatively affected the stay. The street leading to the riad can feel somewhat uncomfortable at night, with people sleeping outside in the later hours.

The riad is located away from the busy centre and although its hard to find at first you soon realise thats how the city actually is. It is very safe, just watch out for the bikes! In fact, inside the riad felt really safe too, we left rooms unlocked when going for breakfast and dinner. The riad is within walking distance from all the main attractions. Rooms are spacious and clean. Upon arrival you're treated to the traditional tea and biscuits, which adds a nice touch. There's excellent WiFi and access to Netflix on the TV in your rooms. Breakfast was served on a terrace. I loved the fact that it is not a buffet :) its freshly made each morning and whatever was served was enough. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. When we had to leave earlier, the breakfast was prepared especially for us, before the usual time. Some reviews mentioned the beds being hard but it is not the case, they are firm but nothing to worry about at all! Staff is really helpful and will definitely do their best to fix whatever the issue might be. After coming back from the desert trip we had dinner at the riad and homemade moroccon dishes are better than in the restaurants, so do give it a try :)) there are no hidden charges, city tax was mentioned prior to booking.Price list for spa services is also available so you won't be faced with anything unexpected. The city in general operates mainly with cash, so do take that into consideration. The pool was not on a list of our priorities since it is a city break so we weren't too bothered with it being small. Id imagine hotel resorts outside the city would accommodate for that. Some reviews stated the pictures do not correspond with reality but it is not true, what you see is what you'll get. Relieved I didn't book anything in the centre of the Medina, as its too busy and loud. This riad is truly an oasis! We were very happy!

Struggling with an answer to that tbh. I'd say if we were looking to spend time in the pool this wouldn't have worked for us.

Friendly and attentive staff particularly Yassine. Breakfasts & evening meal were lovely. Had a hannam & massage which was fabulous. Gorgeous place to rest and enjoy being in the heart of Marrakech.

Arrived late at night in the rain and could have been better sign posting to the riad.

El desayuno está muy bien y la ubicación es buena. El riad está bien decorado, limpio y el personal muy atento. Es una buena opción con buena relación calidad-precio.

La gentillesse d’un employé qui a été à l’écoute de nos besoins.

Le riad est difficile d’accès et lorsque nous avons demandé de l’aide par téléphone, une employée a refusé de venir nous chercher. Heureusement que qu’un riad voisin nous a tendu la main pour trouver le bon riad. La terrasse n’était pas à la hauteur des photos et l’insonorisation est discutable.

La localisation, au cœur de la médina, à distance égale du jardin secret et du Bahia palace. Le personnel également était d’une gentillesse extrême, merci pour l’accueil !
