Situated in a beautiful area, not far from main entertainment and shops, perfect for a family. Very clean and tidy, we throughly enjoyed our stay there. The hosts were great.

"Very disappointing"

3.0

The Lodge smelled musty as soon as you walked in. It was clean enough but dated. There were patches of mould on the bedroom ceiling and bathroom which made it very uncomfortable. The towel heater on the bathroom wall was all rusty and unsightly. I booked this for my pregnant daughter in law and my grandson and unfortunately she had to leave on the first night as she felt so nauseous and sick.

Hidden costs that are not explained to you before you pay for the stay ... Once you arrive, the lady comes to the door looking for money for electricity (and towels) .. What a hard neck! CASH ONLY - NO VAT RECEIPT for the extra payments, even after requested

"Very disappointing outcome from a poor lodge which promised more."

All of us enjoyed the chance to spend time together in the one location. The location of the complex was acceptable to us as we were going on a recommendation from one of my daughters who had taken a break at Hunters Quay earlier this year and we thought that it sounded like a good place to plan a break together with our family all in the one place. It was also a good location to reach the local supermarket, 9 minute drive, to pick up groceries and whatever else was required for our stay. The weather was pleasant for us as well. Whilst there wasn't a great deal of sun, the weather was typical Scottish weather and didn't bother us at all.

Upon entering the unit, the first thing that we noticed was the smell. It was a very damp, fusty smell and it wasn't pleasant at all. We noticed that there are damp mould patches in the bathroom and one of the bedrooms and the carpets in the place were not very clean. Some of the cooking pots and pans were falling apart/wobbly as they needed to be tightened up but I didn't have anything to tighten them up with. The beds were not very comfy as the mattresses on them were overused and in need of replacement. There was black tape round one of the windows to make it secure, which it wasn't. All of the windows were filthy and in need of a good wash and clean. When we looked at the other units around the area, all of their windows looked clean whereas the windows on our unit were very dirty. In our collected opinion, the place is very dated, outdated I would say, as the whole place is in need of a full renovation. When we used the hoover for the first time to give the floors a clean, there was a very disgusting smell coming from the hoover as it smelt like the previous people had hoovered up sick from the floor. It was so bad, that we didn't use the hoover again until we were leaving to try and leave the place as clean as we could. I also think that being asked to leave the premises before 10.00am is not acceptable as we had young children to try to get out of bed early enough to get them ready and vacate the premises in time for your cleaners to turn and give the place a good clean. Again, we had to endure the disgusting smell from the hoover to try to leave the place tidy. The last thing that I am unhappy about, is being asked to strip the beds of the bed linen, and leave it on the bed for the cleaners. I feel that this is a step too far as I have NEVER been asked to do this before as I am on holiday and not employed as a cleaner for your company. Therefore, I didn't strip the beds, that's your cleaners job.

"I will NEVER waste my time in one of these properties again."

It was a horrible, overpriced, damp hovel with the cheapest linen, no WiFi and a peremptory and excessive series of email instructions

"Absolutely nothing straight home to wash and all my stuff washed.glad to be home and safe not sitting up all night scarr"

1.0

Nothing it was not safe for my kids being there. Window broke with just black tape over it from the outside that could still be open. Absolutely terrible smell of dampness and really strong smell or urine. Stains on couch bedding carpet the list goes on. I tried to find somewhere else to stay after travelling all that way. I will never be back and feel robbed of £420 when it’s not fit for people being in it. Also dampness all over the bedroom ceiling when one of the kids have asthma. Total shocked and raging as this was for my girls birthday

Nothing not fit for rental!!
