Such a pretty and picturesque property. Old world charm with electric gates. Property kept really well and looked after. Bags easily brought up by lift so no lugging up stairs, parking on property, staff very helpful and kind even accommodated with early check in, beds very comfortable and spacious, huge balcony overlooking gorgeous views of Como,breakfast was superb with mine and my daughters gluten free breakfast catered to. Overall wonderful.

Das Ronco dell’Abate ist ein ganz besonderer Ort, wenn man historische Gebäude, kunsthistorische Details und eine sehr individuelle Atmosphäre schätzt. Der Palazzo selbst ist ein echtes Juwel und beeindruckt durch seinen historischen Charakter. Auch unser Zimmer war außergewöhnlich großzügig – tatsächlich bestand es aus zwei Zimmern und zwei Bädern, was sehr komfortabel war. Die Villa liegt in einer schönen, ruhigen Gegend und ist in einen kleinen Garten eingebettet. Das Frühstück ist liebevoll, aber eher überschaubar. Es gibt nur wenige Frühstückstische, und im Frühstücksraum werden Brot, Müsli, Kaffee, Tee und einige Kleinigkeiten angeboten. Besonders schön war der frisch zubereitete Obstsalat am Morgen. Wer ein sehr umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffet erwartet, wird hier aber eher nicht fündig. In den Bädern gab es viele schöne historische Details, die gut zum Charakter des Hauses passen. Insgesamt ein beeindruckendes historisches Haus mit viel Charme und besonderer Atmosphäre – ideal für Gäste, die Individualität und Geschichte schätzen.

Die Lage in Como ist eher abseits: Zu Fuß ist der Weg in die Stadt recht weit, und der Rückweg führt bergauf. Auch die Zuwegung über den Rasen ohne Trittsteine ist mit Gepäck oder hohen Schuhen nicht ganz ideal. Auf dem Grundstück gibt es nur einen Parkplatz; das Rangieren dort ist etwas schwierig. Im Bad waren einige technische Dinge etwas schwierig: Die Armaturen am Waschbecken waren sehr schwergängig, eine ließ sich nicht richtig schließen und tropfte dauerhaft. Auch die WC-Spülung war gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Der klassische Stil aus den 50 er Jahren und die Gastfreundschaft, Personal sehr sehr angenehm👍

the main staff's attitude is really bad. it's one thing about language barriers, yet it's another when it comes to attitude. we didn't feel treated fairly and well during the stay. whenever we asked Suzanna for anything, she often responded with visible frustration and an attitude that made even simple requests feel like a major inconvenience. it reached the point where we regretted asking for help and felt we had to manage things ourselves... for example, when we asked for an empty bowl of yogurt to be refilled at breakfast. many facilities in the house are not functioning well anymore - bathroom faucets are not running properly; sewage is blocked in both the shower and the sink; no screens on the windows, meaning loads of mosquitos and bugs; it's june already but the bed is still winter duvet. overall the place was really overvalued. with €350 per night, we would expect a near 5 star hotel level service and facilities. but the reality is far below that.
