"Of a high standard but still cosy and homely."

10.0

We walked in after a 15km walk and was like, ‘this is nice’. Lovely decor and very comfy sofa. Heating was on when we went in, which made it lovely a cosy. There was a bottle of wine on the tablet, and a bath which was greatly appreciated after the walk. Kitchen had everything you needed, and son was quite happy to be left for an hour on the XBox. Beds, well what can I say, I went home and ordered mattress toppers that night, so comfortable. There was a little noise during the night, from people coming past, but you are on a Main Street and straight out onto the road. Location was excellent. There was a convenience store/off licence next door, so you could actually go in your slippers, a car part a few hundred feet away, and a delicatessen over the road, selling fresh bread or breakfast batches. Pubs and restaurants, well, I would say at least 20 within walking distance distance, ie.. a few streets, as well as some nice quaint shops. We didn’t do Mam Tor as this is the obvious place, but drove out to The Roaches, Lud’s Church, and Derwent Dam.

TV was a little hard to fathom, I’m not sure if you can only watch catch up.

Our stay at Bourne Cottage was delightful! The peaceful surroundings and cozy atmosphere made it the perfect escape. The cottage was spotless, well-equipped, and included thoughtful touches that made our visit extra special. Our kids loved the Xbox and games provided.
