OIA Beach Hostel - El Nido

Beautiful beachfront location, quiet neighborhood, cool bar attached to hostel.

My dorm was the worst hostel room I’ve seen in 4 months of travel. Concrete floors were extremely dirty, my feet were worse off without shoes in the room. The light was too dull to illuminate the whole space, so the room was always dark and felt like a cave. Very little space to move around between the beds, let alone comfortably unpack bags. Beds were uncomfortable, pillow was too thin and lumpy for comfort. Sheets were not clean, had a sprinkling of dust and dead mosquitoes on top after my arrival. Overpriced for what it is. Neutral: reception staffed entirely by volunteers for the duration of my stay.

Charming place with epic views of the ocean mountain islands. Great place to chill out indefinetely.

Rooms had a bit of smells due to moisture and peoples wet clothing.

La bonne humeur du personnel, les conseils, la disponibilité, la propreté des lieux, la nourriture. Tout était incroyable! Grand merci à tous les volontaires pour ces moments fous, mention spéciale pour Lolo, Clara, Finn et Émile!! Et merci encore à Zané, Noy et Félix pour l’expédition à la journée (dans le nord) on repart avec tellement de souvenirs!

Rien tout est bien on a dit

L'hôtel est super bien situé, on peut y accéder rapidement en longeant la plage quasiment tout du long. Les résidents et volontaires sont super accueillants, les dortoirs très propres, l'ambiance et d'actualité et la vue à couper le souffle. Je comprends pourquoi la plupart des gens prolongent leur séjour là bas !

Absolutely loved OIA—I even extended my stay just to slow down, relax, and soak it all in. The volunteers were super friendly and kept arranging fun hostel outings and activities that made it effortless to meet other travelers and feel at home right away. The hammocks look straight out over the water, and being steps from the beach meant an easy, peaceful swim any time of day. Kayaks are available to paddle to nearby islands, which was a memorable little adventure between chill sessions. The music—played by the local volunteers and on most of the time—set a calm, laid‑back vibe that made the whole place feel incredibly soothing. The food was tasty and fairly priced, so eating in never felt expensive and the portions hit the spot. Overall, OIA is that rare mix of community, comfort, and breathtaking views that makes leaving hard—highly recommend.

Visited during the off‑season and still had a great time, but it made me wish I could’ve stayed longer—especially since the hostel sometimes plans expeditions and extra activities I didn’t get to join. Honestly, the only sad part was having to leave.
