OIA Beach Hostel - El Nido

Relaxing, quiet hostel next to the beach. Staff were friendly. The hammocks make it very nice and chill, has great potential

Really disappointed in this place as having read the good reviews, I was looking forward to it. Bed was very uncomfortable, thin mattress. The room was freezing at night, the first night we asked them to turn it down. There is a sign saying if you’re cold, ask for blankets, they said they had none. The sign also said complimentary breakfast, again untrue. The common areas and bedroom (cobwebs all around the bed frames) were really dirty. 2 toilets for a whole hostel isn’t enough. Not very sociable, wouldn’t recommend to solo backpackers.

Really friendly staff, spent xmas with them. Quite location, great places to relax, socialise make new friends.

Rooms would benift from some carpentry maintenance, Aircon and better quality mattress.

The place was beautiful, close to nature, and with a stunning view. We could play ping-pong, beerpong and many other games. The people there are truly awesome, most nights we hang out together and had a great time. Would come back any time!

The beds and AC in the rooms could be improved.

The staff working there are very friendly and so helpful. It's in a fairly decent location, only a short 15 minute walk into the main part of el nido. This hostel has a lot of potential.

Sadly, this hostel is below satisfactory in my opinion. I have stayed in hostels across SE Asia and the Philippines over the past three months and this has been the most disappointing and uncomfortable. The hostel has only been open a year but is still under construction, and looks tired and worn out - the hostel owners need to invest in the main chill out and hammock area so it's not just a concrete landscape. The worst thing by far is the dorm room - cramped, with limited space for bags, poorly designed wooden lockers and worst of all, inadequate beds. The mattress concaved in the middle and was so thin I could feel the central metal bar of the bunk bed underneath which was the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. I couldn't sleep. This must be rectified as it's not satisfactory for paying customers. You also can't adjust the AC temperature in the room so our room was an icebox, I had to sleep fully clothed to keep warm at night.

Loved the staff here, they are super friendly! A nice chilled hostel to meet like minded travellers :) highly recommend for anyone on a budget!

Rooms were crowded, and mattresses were less than adequate. Need a scooter if you want to get anywhere quickly. The beach was an old reef. The place is still under construction.

- view was awesome - cool music at night - lots of cool spots to chill - easy access to the beach - cheap and easy breakfast - good location easy walk to the main town a little dark at night - lots of good potential to be a cool backpacking spot

- looked a bit unfinished and some areas were a bit precarious - bed was uncomfy; could feel the frame on the top bunk - lockers confusing - no PowerPoints - a little expensive for the standards

Still under construction as it’s a new place recently opened up, hard to give as a solo traveler when the rest in the stay were traveling in groups but still lovely. Would have loved for the bar to be more lively and bring out more of the vibe it has the potential for
