The building is exceptionally clean and modern. The décor in the apartment was pristine and inviting.

Host should have clearly stated that the property wasn't guest friendly in the listing. It helps to understand the house rules when you are shopping for places to stay. People go on vacations expecting different experiences and being explicit and upfront about house rules informs the choices that are made. It's your house, it's your rules! Just make it clear right from the outset. I would never have booked the apartments knowing what I know now.
