ZAThe location of the unit was great with a sea view and walking distance from the beach. Our host was also great
No cleaning service was available during our 7 day stay. Fridge and freezer was not working upon arrival. Only gas braai available to use.
ZADonique, from Harcourts (The Host), was most polite & helpful. Her professional service & helpful approach was the only good comment my family & I have to offer, with respect of this rather expensive yet disappointing experience.
The accommodation is poorly serviced, in respect of cleanliness & hygiene. The scatter cushions have a pungent odor & the cleaners offer a less than impressive clean up. The beds didn't have proper & or linen fitted. The main bedroom Aircon was working & upon the host trying to get it repaired, it was clear that all aircons were old, corroded - short of gas & performed sub-optimally, over what was a sweltering heatwave. The mattresses in all bedrooms are old & truly most uncomfortable to say the least. the fridge worked sometimes but the freezer did not. Needless to say all frozen groceries had to be disposed of. The power tripped due to what appears to be electrical issues almost daily & on some days constantly, not withstanding daily power outages in Ballito, which we were not alerted to ahead of arrival. The cleaning services were just appalling. The cleaning used smelly mops, which left a distinct odor post cleaning. When we complained about a dead gekko that was stuck on some glue from what appears to have been applied to a cracked window, we were informed that that was out of her scope against her service level agreement. This was simply put a stay from hell, which is sad as the unit actually could present a great offering in terms of location & views. My biggest disappointment was having complained to Booking.com to try to relocate even at a higher cost - they subjected me to a scam (AS BOOKING.COM does not vet their agents to ensure that they are real ), which left my family & I running around for a whole day, trying to find alternate accommodation, not withstanding an R18k relocation bill & a R6k breakage deposit on a scam property. I hope to god that they reimburse me for this! Thank you once again to Donique from Harcourts, for opening her offices on a Sunday afternoon to give us back the keys & re-accommodate us on short notice!

I didn't like the bedding in the bedroom that had 2 single beds it was not make sure, was not happy about it 😔 and also I didn't like the fact that we had to sweep when we got into the house

My experience at 23 Martinique was extremely disappointing. The accommodation was in an unacceptable state, with the entire house being dirty and covered in dust. There was rubble and trash underneath the bed, and the entire place had a very strong, overwhelming smell of dust that made it almost unbearable to stay there. When I contacted the property manager to address these issues, the situation only worsened. She was volatile, rude, and incredibly impatient. Rather than handling the grievance professionally, she used very vulgar language, specifically when referring to my husband, which I found highly unprofessional and offensive. Furthermore, the caretaker was hostile, undermining and outright disrespectful. When we were in need of an additional parking, he came fuelled with anger and condescension in an attempt to get us to move the car. His manner of correction was uncalled for and failed to acknowledge that we were human. This type of attitude and aggressive behavior is completely unacceptable, and I would never recommend this place to anyone. If you're considering staying at 23 Martinique, I strongly urge you to reconsider due to the lack of cleanliness and the hostile management.

There is no wifi, and the DSTV listed is only the basic package. These are minor things though! And we still enjoyed our stay immensely.
