Wolds Motel - Mt. Pleasant

Convenient location

They tried to charge us more for the price that we booked for because they found out it was the local university graduation and tried to make more money off from us. Total breach of contract. We fought it and paid for what we booked it for.

This is a very, very basic small motel (all outside entrance and one level.) But the room was REALLY big. We have frequently traveled with our kids and two air beds, that barely fit in a two twin bed room. This room had two queen beds and could easily have accomodated 4 air beds. Bathroom was also a good size. Easily the BEST wifi we have ever had in any hotel or motel.

Being a special weekend, the price seemed high, but it was half the price of other national chain hotels. We were only there for a total of about 14 hours, and most of that was showering and sleeping, so cost was tough. Motel in the middle of a subdivision was odd, and bathroom fan was pretty loud. NNo extras (pool, breakfast,) Breakfast would have helped offset the cost a bit.

I liked the size of our room, and there was a king-sized bed. They knocked on our door and reminded us 30 minutes before checkout, and gave us a welcome mat after we got our things situated. Overall they made a good impression.

After taking a shower in the bathroom, I walked around barefoot for maybe 5 minutes while I got ready for the day and the bottoms of my feet were dirty, so the floors weren't as clean as they looked, and the room had a pretty strong odor of Pinesol but it didn't bother me as much as my partner.

i was charged an extra 20$ since my friend came over to visit. i paid 80 for a sibgle king bed by myself and the manager closely watched me my entire stay”, knocking on the door and demanding an extra 20 dollars since my friend ended up hanging out, eg, sharing a bed with my girlfriend.

the manager was showing signs of jealousy towards my girlfriend and wanted to exploit me for sex

There was no towel bar or toilet paper holder. One of the mattresses was so broken down you couldn’t sleep on it and the other one had the mattress ripped on the side. One of the pillow cases was ripped and had a hole in it.

Room was clean, easy check in, parking was close.

Didn't feel safe in the location, lots of people walking around, looked like some lived there.

Good location, nice and clean.

The beds are a little hard, but not too bad. Could use a little more "cushion" to the mattress.
