Tekapo1929 Lakefront Villa

Great location, easy 5 minute walk into town. Quiet and nice and dark at night - especially good to be able to go out the front and see the stars under the night sky. No view from the house but the lake is across road and can be seen once you walk out to the front yard.

A couple of small touches which would have been appreciated: some long life (UHT) milk in the fridge (we had just had a long car trip and made tea before realising there was no milk, so had to go back out and find a supermarket); there were no water glasses so had to message the host; no paper towel/ cling wrap/ foil available for food prep or storage.

Good location close to the lake, everything in walking distance.

It felt very tired and run down. I understand that it’s an old house but it seemed to be very cheaply renovated, strange lay out and furniture and bedding old and in a poor state (for example there was a burn mark on the sofa, cracked vase on the fireplace). Of our whole stay in the South Island was definitely the least comfortable and on the higher price end.

Location. It was right in front of lake, very picturesque.

It was supposed to be three bedrooms. But only one room can be called regular room. The other two rooms are constructed by using ply woods blocking part of living room and ante room.

Very nice location and nice host that say hello to us.

The house is extremely old and the floor has many historic black spots that are very sticky. The room smells bad and feel hard to sleep
